ASR Active Annoying!

    Whenever I try to "gun it" or take off quickly my Ferrari will show "ASR Active" on the dashboard and the engine seems to automatically slow down to keep the tires from spinning. Is there a way to shut this off, it's really annoying! It seems to do it even when the tires shouldn't be slipping.

    With a 360, either put it into Sport mode (ASR still on but less so) or hit the ASR off button!

    Like Derek stated, turn the "sports" button to on and then turn the "ASR" button to off. Hang on good and tight and make sure not to induce to much oversteer and slam into something to close to the car.

    Be very careful though. You might want to start with the Sport mode first and learn how the car feels, find a big open parking lot and have a little fun. Be very very careful turing the ASR completely off. I spun my car 270 degrees one day (luckily no damage) but learned very fast the respect you must have for all that power on your right foot.

    And be careful. 360s will spin easily and don't like it when you "gun it".

    There used to be a youtube video of a guy losing it in a straight line and hitting a wall. Go figure.

    By the way, if the ASR is coming online, you are driving slowly.

    first thing I do when I start it is cut the ASR off. I do notice for a mid engine car, the low speed traction while turning isn't great. I don't mind being a little sideways. what does concern me is some of the wheel hop that happens in first...

    same here. I frequently drive with the annoying asr off. I leave sport mode OFF as well, most of the time. It helps to smooth the suspension around town, and on the local 4 lane roads. Just be carefull. If you've driven lots of cars making big power, it's not a problem. If you haven't, be very careful.

    check the tires & air pressure..i have my f430 in sport all the time..& when i gun it in first gear no light comes..because i change tires alot.i hate when the traction control light appears..gonna change the rear tires once again.less than 2 years & ive changed the rears twice gonna be my 3rd soon

    Thanks for the replies. I tried what was suggested but still no luck. The ASR always kicks in no matter what combo of buttons I push. :p It did work once and I actually heard the tires squeal....first time ever with this car! Off to the shop again. :(

    I think I actually saw this on Ferrarichat, but it was a guy going off a cliff and the passenger was recording!

    When I had issues with ASR,
    First, my track tires were not the same diameters as the OEM tires.
    Fixing this significantly improved the situation.
    Second, soon after, my right rear wheel speed sensor failed.
    This was a bit expensive because the sensor is built into the wheel bearing,
    so the entire wheel bearing had to be replaced. I don't have my records
    here with me, but I think it was the wheel bearing rather than the hub.
    Working off of memory for now.

    After the second change, the ASR has not been an issue at all. That was
    3yrs ago, and multiple track events ago. I never went back to the prior
    tire size to see if it was really the sensor causing issues the whole time.
