www.dirtcheapmotorsports.com Anyone own one of these Chinese built machines? If so, are they worth a crap? They're so cheap I'm thinking of buying a 125 to let my kids play with...

I hear those are 100% total crap...as in, good-luck-making-it-through-the-first-weekend-crap. Plus parts are very difficult to find on most. I'd say, stick with Japanese and spend a little bit more, definitely go used if you're looking for the kids.

By buying a used "mainstream" manufacturer you will save money off of MSRP. These little bikes also have a bottom price that they will likely not go under if running and cosmetically decent. Your old dirt bike is someone else's reward or present to their youngster.

From what I've seen of the Chinese junk ATV's and bikes, their new retail is about the same as a used Japanese bike, but virtually worthless used. They simply do not hold together and are mostly poor copies of Japanese engine designs sold abroad. They are truly disposable vehicles. Everything about them is cheap.

There is a Korean streetbike brand named Hyosung, they used to build Suzuki engines for the Korean market before they decided to try selling their own bikes. They simply have no presence in the US despite advertising because the bikes are either a)junk, or b)chrome-plated junk. They are cheap too, but competing against used Japanese bikes it is no contest.
