Daniel- Do you think he might be better off with the latest, and less expensive, siren? Both fit according to your catalog. Only reason I thought about it was we were doing research on the 550 forum for someone who needed a replacement.

Where do I find my car assy number? It's a 1998 355 F1 GTS, VIN 112378. The motor number in the original warranty card book is 49711.

If that is it, does that mean I should use the latter siren, p/n 177148?

Look for a stamped metal plate, riveted to the subframe assembly beside one of the rear shock towers (I think the right side).

    EDIT: see attached

Sorry Daniel, it's on the Left side. BTW, why should anyone flame you? Ferrari Spa and NA set the prices, not you. Your incredible reliability and customer service more than make-up for whatever small profit you make. We Ferrari owners owe you a great deal of gratitude.

Daniel- Certainly hope you did not think I was trying to flame you. You are a very honorable man. Nobody can be expected to remember all the details on these cars.

Found it on the left (driver's) side. Thanks to all that helped.

Assembly number is 29479, so earlier, more $$ part is correct.
