Well, here's the illustration done on Vince's fine 348 Serie Speciale #78 with an historic Ferrari friend to keep it company. Still a couple of details and tweaking to do. These Jpegs just don't show the detail and look soft compared to the original.Illustration is about 18" long. Image Unavailable, Please Login
As we speak I'm explaining to my wife that her collection of shoes is good enough and this illustration of our 348 would be much much better use of our extra funds. Wish me luck!
Hi Dennis - I am not at all a computer graphics expert. But I have heard that *.gifs are higher quality than jpegs. If true, that probably assumes that you generate a gif initially, and don't just convert a jpg to a gif . Anyway, maybe worth a try.
I think you are thinking *.tif which don't compress the image data. Jpegs can be every bit as good as *.gifs if you pick high quality when saving it. The problem is that fchat limits file size for upload, so you have to compress, and scale the file down which will have this effect
Yeah Eric, I usually scan as a Tiff file but they are so high in resolution I can't use them here at FChat so I convert to Jpegs , hence the softness. The last few weeks I've used Kinko's for scans since my scanner is toast.
Yes, I'm sure you're right when it comes to compressing for Fchat. Dennis, I REALLY do like your creativity in composing with the older car. My thought is my 348 in front of a 330P4, et al, at LeMans.
I love the Ferrari F250, one of the classic race cars. Oh yeah, I like it ! The P4 probably the most beautiful race car ever. Who was it that drove it at LeMans, Chris Amon, John Surtees? Let me know dude and I'll get it started.
Well here's a couple illustrations I did over the weekend. The first one is of the Maestro himself as a racer. The next is of a Ferrari in action. Geez, I even went into photoshop to enhance the pics but resolution here for Jpegs is just to low. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I will announce the unveiling maybe in the next week or two. It'll be an official "Stooge" event. Weather is getting fine and a barbecue is in the offing at Chez Vince!
Geez!, that was fast .Modified 'D' Type Jaguar, I thought the absence of the tell tale vertical fin / drivers cowl would throw the ID off. 'Fatbilly' wins a signed print of it, Ill send it along with Vince's illustration for Vince's 'Stooges' shindig.
Hmm, could get lost in the mail on its way here, if ya know what I mean... Um, sorry FBB, guess the dog got it.
Boy's Boy's............Hell, I'll throw in a signed # edition print for all the 'Stooges'.......what's that Vince 4?
My son just found this 'Indian' illustration I did for one of the motorcycle magazines from the mid '70's. Image Unavailable, Please Login
