    I love the weather in California, though I've never lived there. My brother and I had a car we borrowed from someone in San Diego in the middle of summer with no A/C. In New Orleans you'd probably die trying to drive around like that but there it wasn't half bad.

    I've been thinking about earthquakes and adding it to the list of things to not enjoy. There are a lot of places in CA that seem very inviting though.

    I don't want to be one of those people who "move to California" just because it's California but it's such a large state with sand, sun and surf so it is appealing. On the plus side, it would be the first state to legalize cocaine. :)

    I don't care where my neighbors are from, I just don't want them sleeping in my garage, keying my cars or begging on the corners.


    Noted but not rules out.


    I was in New Orleans for 3 days a long time ago and it was murderously hot. No matter where I go, all of my future cars are going to have A/C.

    That's true, but there are neighboring cities with slightly different demographics.

    I can't think of too many places to live with the access to world class race tracks we have here.

    Anyway, I would think the south bay area is worth a look, north bay if the GG bridge is tied up can be isolated.

    A big plus for me is freeways here are nothing like the greater LA area.

    Natives and long time residents simply don't worry about them.

    okay....

    blazing hot (90 degrees with humidity to match) in the summer

    freezing cold (avg. high around 30) in the winter

    horrible allergy seasons spring and fall

    earthquakes, floods, tornadoes

    more white trash than you can shake a slim jim at

    what about Hilton Head, SC? Great weather, friendly people, and most importantly, about 40 golf courses are only a 15 min drive away, including Harbourtown, which is a stop on the PGA tour right after The Masters.

    Just don't move to the valley. Then you don't have to worry about earthquakes.
