I would be in if they cost closer to what a factory key that comes cut from the factory costs...which is about $200... My thought is having one cut from the manufacture avoids the risk of having to have it cut locally...

    BR Duke-

Did you buy that 360 from Boardwalk recently? I was looking at that car they day they said they wholesaled it off. Maybe to you or the person you bought it from?

I just received my key from Koji in Japan, WOW I love it. I took it right over and had it cut at a locksmith's shop, very easy.

It now is my regular key for the car. Will post some pics later.

Here is my crappy camera phone pic, it does not show how nice this key is. Very solid, nice size and the the black carbon fiber looks fantastic.

You might want to go to ferraricarbon.com and see if the key also fits a 430, the website does not list that model for this key. Maybe others can chime in here if this key also works in a 430. If it does, go to the website, pony up your hard earned $270, when it arrives get it cut, done!

I just looked back to earlier in this thread and it looks like this key will not work in a 430, sorry.

    My key arrived, looks amazing.

I didn't want to start a new thread for this, and search function didn't help...

When I got my keys/immobilizer from the dealer he told me that the fob and card had to be together for the car to start. If they weren't together then the tracking system would go off straight away. The two are taped together with normal sellotape, my question is... is this normal? Does every 360 fob look like this or what!? Does the card need to be taped right next to it, or just somewhere in the car for the engine to start normally? Anyone else have this type of fob? :)

What is this "card" you are referring to? I only have the fob and the key for my 360.

Seven- Somebody is blowing smoke up your rear end. No cards on OEM Ferrari alarm and remote systems, unless yours has an aftermarket alarm.

I figured that was the case. It must be the tracking system which is installed. You can see the black card taped to the normal fob and it has the ferrari logo on the back. The dealer told me a few times that the fob must be with the card when you start the engine, otherwise the tracking system goes off and you get a call from the company asking if your car has been stolen.

Also worth noting if you're from the UK and buy the carbon fibre key, it arrives from Japan and there's a £25 custom charge to pay. Sill well worth it though, the key is awesome.

That is the navtrack system as fitted to my Stradale and GT3. You are supposed to keep the cards apart from the car so if the car moves without it it triggers the system, I would say that most people just hide the card somewhere in the car....

Thanks, it is Navtrack. Would hiding the card somewhere in the car be a bad idea though, does that mean if someone manages to start the car without my fob, but the key card is in there, that the navtrack won't trigger the system?

I had my 360 at FOA today for an annual service (oil, brake fluid, gear oil) and everyone was asking where I got my key (the carbon fiber key). I told them and directed them to the website and I was told they are going to look into stocking this key here locally. We will see if that happens.

Check the length of the blank against your known working key. I purchased one of these and the blank is just a bit shorter than the OEM key. It starts the car but does not work on the manual door locks.

+1 and it works perfectly, the length was exactly the same as my "normal" keys.
