I want to upgrade rims and tires on my Testarossa and want to get some opinions from you guys. My car is white with factory equipment. I don't want anything to blingy so I was considering either 512TR or something clean looking. You guys have any ideas?

    Hi !!
You can also fit the 355 wheels .
My car has those wheels , fitted by the previous owner.
I think you will need spacers to fit them.

Looks sweet, aren't the 512TR and the 355 rims very similar?

Wow those F355 wheels look GREAT on your TR...your car in white just looks razor sharp - VERY NICE!!!! White is really starting to grow on me for these cars..

As for wheels, 360 Modena wheels will bolt up with no spacers or anything, BUT you will need longer wheel bolts than the stock TR bolts. I've also seen 550 Maranello wheels on a TR, on the 550 the stock wheels are ho-hum, but on the TR they looked quite nice. Yes F355 wheels and 512TR wheels are very similar in appearance, and both do require spacers and longer bolts...costs can add up fast. Do a search on past threads regarding wheels on TRs....there has been a lot of talk on this subject.

Lastly....whatever you decide to use...please post some pics !! Thanks....

Just did the same thing. Got a set of 512TR wheels from a fellow Fchatter. The 512TR wheels and tires are in the range of $3500-$4500 and the spacers will run you another $650 from Ricambi (just order a set) you need 11mm in the front and 22mm in the rear both with longer bolts. The package is cheap compare to buying it from the lugs from the dealer at over $120 for 1 lug. The cheaper way to go is with a set of 355 wheels and tires, I think there is a set for sale here on Ferrariads for under 2K. I hear these Testarossas handles much better with the 18inch wheels than the stock 16. Can't wait to try mine when it comes out of the shop.

    Hello ,
When i bought the car in the UK it had the front spoiler in white , so i decided to get it back to the original
    color.
    I like it that way.
It alredy had those wheels , i´m thinking on get a set of original wheels for the car to have it as standard.
But until then i will enjoy the 355 wheels.
About the 512tr wheels the rear wheels are wider than the 355 wheels(295 vs 265).
    All the best

Don´t you think that the wheels on your car are more Ferrari traditional?

Agreed! I like my wheels..............but sometimes I wish I could change them, always keeping the originals of course.

There is, I believe, a Ronal (spelling?) 18" wheel that fits the spline mount on our single bolt cars. I saw it on a 1985 advertised by a dealer in Hemmings. Called him, but he did not want to sell just the wheels - the car came with the originals less tires as well.

I don't know if they are still available. My only purpose would be more modern rubber, otherwise I dont think you can improve on the classic 5-star of the original.

EDIT - now I remember that James Patterson at Norwoods told me about an inch size conversion; maybe it was also this wheel (or maybe some other).

I'm looking over some pictures of the 360 modular rims. Does anyone know for sure if they are a direct bolt up or do I require spacers and longer lugs?

I've seen a couple of pictures of the car with them and I'm torn between the 512TR look and those.

    What do you guys think?

If and when, I will probably go with the 512 wheels. They update the car while looking OEM. Nice looking.

I don't even like TRs that much, but that photo is just terrific. The more I see, I'm starting to change my limited (and potentially flawed) thinking. One of these days I hope to ride in a well sorted 512TR to complete my education!
