What an upset for sure...Scott Dixon needs to get out Indy Car and get into endurance racing! I think had Klein not spun, we may have seen him atop the charts. I think the stage has been set for a most interesting race and will it be Acura or Audi #2 first into turn 1??

I suspected that the Farnbacher Porsche would take pole. So it's a GT2 Porsche front row and a Ferrari second row.

Come race time, everyone needs to remember that they have 11 hours and 59 seconds ahead when they take off and even though it will probably be a 12 hour sprint...you have to cross the line to be in the points.

Watching the ALMS preview on Speed right now. They interviewed Dave about the situation with Jaime. He said he's in NYC, arriving in MCO at midnight so they will go pick him up. When Dave said they had two options, I told John he needs to go for #2 - Wahoo....it was #2. So they will start from the back of the grid but it won't be long until they start climbing. The drama begins .......

I thought I would be at night practice. Not. Orlando airport a nightmare. All the rental car cos overbooked. Monorail down for a while. 3 hrs to get out. But the historic Kenilworth Inn/Sebring is cool. Feels like you stepped into the 50's. Old racing posters and pics everywhere. Oh well. Be there sun-up.

Thanks for the update on JM.

    Go #62 indeed!

Interesting bit Mike put together on the wings that aren't wings in the R15 front diffuser and nose vent. See it on Mulsanne's Corner.

After a thrilling qualifying session which saw Acura take pole position for Saturday’s race it was time for the nightly practice session. One hour before the session got underway it started to rain heavily for 30 minutes, which meant the track was still wet when the session got underway.

With the sun setting most of the photographers were waiting at Turn 1 for the cars to get out of the pit and into action. After a couple of minutes they started coming and several drivers immediately found out that the circuit’s surface had become very slippery.

The sun set rapidly and soon after the session had gotten underway the cars were running in full darkness, with only floodlights and the car’s headlights showing the track layout.During the 1 hour and 45 minute long session several teams did longer stints, whilst others only did a handful of laps.

After completing 42 laps the #08 Peugeot 908 HDI FAP was the quickest car in 1:45.920. Only 0.073s behind it was the #2 Audi R15 TDI, though this car had only done 16 laps. The other Peugeot 908 took third place in the night session, more than two seconds behind the two fastest cars.

Dyson Racing’s #16 Lola Mazda was the fastest in LMP2 tonight, taking fifth overall. Its fastest time was over 13 seconds slower than the time set by the #08 car though. Fernandez Racing set the second fastest time in LMP2, seventeenth overall and the #20 Lola Mazda did not get any further than 21st overall and 25 seconds behind the Peugeot.

Corvette #3 even beat the #9 Patrón Highcroft Racing Acura ARX-02a and ended the session in eighth overall. The second GT1 Corvette was 20th overall, 14 seconds behind its sister car

And finally LM GT2. Once more the Advanced Engineering Pecom Racing Team Ferrari F430 et the fastest time in a practice session. Risi Competizione #62 was seven tenths of a second slower with the #45 Lizards Porsche taking third.

You have to love the placement of the shower heads in the Kenilworth Inn. Check out the Presidential Suite if you get a chance. Best Food is the "Watering Hole" or "Annies 98" IMO :D I'll be at the track around noon.

Apart from repeating that they packed up and left I can't say any more without repeating other peoples' laying of blame at various folks feet.
Sorry, Isobel, but I'm just not clear enough about it.

Gawd I hate nascar. Why have it take over every feed and system?

Both Acuras had troubles, gearbox and on-track incidents.

Flying Lizard Porsches had incidents, most notably Jorg's ill advised wheel banging with David Murry at the Hairpin in the opening laps. Crazy, not necessary. Marc Leib spun into the wall while attempting a pas for class position near the end.

First rule in endurance racing. Take care of the car.

Second rule in endurance racing. Take care of the car.

    You get the idea. :D
