He dropped the price quite a bit, 28k, wow!
His mention of "starts and runs but no power" is worrisome considering the long list of parts and services performed on this car.

".............. I have had the following items installed: New clutch, new fuel distributor, new fuel pumps, new fuel filters, new fuse/relay panel, new thermostat, rebuilt water pump, new tires, new window motor, new headlight lifter motor, new front spoiler, rebuilt tach and speedo, new brake pads, new brake rotors, rebuilt rear wheel spindle, new ECU(7-12), new alternator and belt, new smog pump and belt, new spark plugs and wires, new timing belts. To date I have invested over 45K in maintenance and repairs. The vehicle has 63,252 miles and needs the 60K service. The vehicle starts, runs, but lacks power".

So I wonder? Cam timing?, 1-6 ECU?, valves?, dead ignition on one side?

Boy I'll say. 45 grand and car is still POS.

Poor guy got bent over good. For that money you can damn near restore one.

Good example of how these cars get a bad rap.

I did that with the 328 even knowing better. By the time I am done I'll have been able to buy a show quality car and been driving it instead of working on it.

It better be a labor of love because it makes no economic sense.

What ever the remaining issues are on this car it must be a deal breaker for the owner or he wouldn't be giving up on it. The word "major" and all it's various meanings come to mind.

The only thing I needed to see "63,252 Miles" YIKES!!!!! I think the "lacks power" statement is probably a car that's only running on 6. That's fairly common.

I think everyone needs to get out of this "jesus" mode, thinking they can save things like this. Lets face it, even ferrari had a lemon or two im sure.

The reality is very simple, and 2 words are only needed when cars are like this at this price.

    "PARTS CAR"

If I remember right, the Ebay ad didn't go into quite as much detail about the true condition of the car as the Craigslist ad. I am pretty certain that is due to the seller knowing that a Craigslist buyer will be picking up the car locally and also will know what they seller looks like and where he lives.

    Just my opinion........

Feel bad for the Ebay buyer.

63k on one of these cars is nothing if it was maintained properly. I know of a 512tr with 80k on it and runs like new. Rifledriver does service on a TR with well over 100k on it and the engine hasn't been apart, it too runs just fine..

Napolis ran his 150k before his mechanic junked it due to a salted chassis.

I am thinking that from the list of items that have been replaced that this particular TR has much more than the indicated 63k miles on it, either that or it was beat badly it's entire life..
