It makes we wonder? My 2006 sits for weeks at a time, but rarely evidences a rough idle. Most of the time the car starts right away witout hesitation. Best

Yes. Disconnect for at least 1 day, after tender attached for 7 days. Leaving tender attached more than one wk. will allow battery charge to drift down, lower than full charge.

    Pretty much agree.

OTOH it increases the rarity value of my totally correctly-broken-in cars. To the extent I can get anyone to believe me of course.

I wish cars had at least the option of a break-in/cold-running nanny that kept you from revving freely, using large throttle openings etc. If it were available, I'd like it on a car I bought new, and I'd insist on it being present on a car I bought used.

(One of my pet peeves is that the E39 M5 lights up a "warning" zone on the tach, to remind you not to use high revs in the cold. All the magazines focused on that and said how cool it was. They could have just electronically limited the throttle to that rev range.)

I would love for these types of cars to be delivered with some sort of factory software that would limit them to increasing revs at intervals until you get to the point of hitting redline.

GUYS, I had the same problem, here is how it was solved NO BS
turn the key on WAIT FOR THE CHECK OK then fire it up
sounds simple but worked for me...the symptoms I had occured within the first 300 miles of ownership a fellow f chatter gave me the advice and i have had zero, i repeat zero soft idle issues since
