I have read online that the temp sensor that turns the fans on and off is similar to one used by VW and can be swapped in. Has anyone done this and if so do you know the VW sensor part number?

My car is an 83 308QV
    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi Chris

Notice the "Sticky" threads at the top of this 308/328/Mondial forum section?
One is the listing of all known interchangeable parts. Have a look through that or give the search function a try.
Sorry, I don't know the number off hand.

From that same sticky thread, and assuming that a NAPA store is close by to you:

    NAPA FS-193 Switch: On: 82 degrees C / Off: 68 degrees C

This switch originally fitted to early 1980 Peugeot. Less than $25.00 USD. Perfect fit, completely interchangeable in every aspect.

For comparison: OEM Veglia switch: On: 85 degrees C / Off: 76 degrees C
