I don't know what they're doing, but I can hear an F1 car or cars driving around Albert Park.

I hope it's an exciting season.

Have a photo here of the 2 300s sports cars and 3 250 F team cars entered in the Olympic AGP undergoing preparation in Reg Hunt"s Elsternwick workshop in 1956.

    Hey Mr Dee Jay....
The big question is whether Mark "Potsie" Webber will win a race this year?

Will he? Its his last roll of the dice I would think. I hope he can. They have a good car and engine..

How will the BrawnGP cars go? With a proven Herman the German in the tail, can they win the AGP??

I'm pretty sure it was an F1. It's been suggested that it might have been the two seater.

NO F1 car has gone around the park, but it seems lots [maybe clones] have been doing the PR rounds all over the state.

Why are *they* talking up the Brawn F1 team so much?

Nothing to tell me otherwise that it will be, as always, the usual suspects at the pointy end.

Anyway i ONLY support ONE team, could not give a continental about the others.

I'm always right. :D The speed comparison normally consists of a road car, a tin top and an F1 car based on all my visits to the GP over the years. They set off at different times and are suppossed to cross the line at the same time.

That's the only explanation I can offer for you hearing an F1 car. F1 practice is always on the Friday. I did note however that they are out a lot later. I thought it was just the race that was being pushed back for the European audience, not practice and everything else as well.

    Everything else as well.
Justified on fairness grounds as the same conditions apply on track.
Seemed a stretch to me. Nothing to do with TV money the gnome assures us.

All three teams adamant they are
    within the technical regulations

Four teams have now lodged protests against the legality of the rear diffusers fitted to the Brawn, Toyota and Williams cars.

The news emerged in the Albert Park Paddock on Thursday after the aerodynamic components were declared legal by FIA scrutineers ahead of the 2009 season opener.

"There are different interpretations of the rules, and we need clarity as quickly as possible," BMW Sauber team boss Mario Theissen said.

Ferrari, Renault and Red Bull also protested, and it is understood they are protesting against all three teams.

The stewards are due to consider the protest on Thursday, but depending on the outcome either the protesting teams, or the three diffuser teams, are expected to send the matter to the Court of Appeal.

If the stewards side with the protesting teams, Brawn, Toyota and Williams will be permitted to race under appeal.

FIA President Max Mosley has already revealed that the appeal would not be able to be heard until after next Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix.

Protests over the diffusers on the Brawn, Toyota and Williams cars kept many people out of their beds until the early hours last night, as Ferrari, Renault and Red Bull sought clarity over the technical regulations.

It was not until 00.45 on Friday morning, Australian time, that the stewards declared all three teams’ cars to be legal ahead of the first practice sessions later today...
