And it looked like it was cherry. The paint is beautiful. Even at that price you would need a new rear clip and decklid. I put a parts request in just in case it doesnt sell. Seems like if it is mechanically good someone could use it to freshen up their own worn out car and be left with some valuable spare parts.

Great opportunity for a GTO body kit now that the damage is done.

Conveniently, there are now two GTO kits posted on Ebay just after the 328 was posted. $12500 buys the kit, $22500 gets the car, 35K gets a GTO clone. Well, after you pay a bodyshop another 10K to install and paint......maybe more. So realitically almost 50k gets you the clone.

    That'll buff right out.

    <sorry, had to say it>

They really massacred the latch areas- to fix that you'd pretty much need to find another rear clip.

    Very sad.

Considering how hard it is to find the front fog lights replacements plus various other parts, this might be an excellent alternative for this car living on.

Good luck getting that price for the car-it will probably end up as a parts car.

Maybe half that price. But then again, they'll make more money parting it out!

TRutlands doesn't give anything away - that car will cost more in total when fixed than the cost of an undamaged 328 at FMV. Plus, you'll have a salvage title when you're done.

TRutlands conveniently neglected to indicate "salvage title" in the ebay posting - nice.

+1 This car is a body-shop owner's dream. Sound mechanicals, bent surface metal, straight frame.....the plastic bits on the rear are readily available via ebay. LOADS of vehicles out there that can lend straight metal pieces to fix the rear.....its do-able.

All it takes is money, and even with a shop owner doing the job, it will still take a lot to fix it.

why would somebody who does not know how to open the rear engine compartment be allowed to TEST DRIVE THE CAR ALONE?

...and then the jaws of life are used to rip open the car to put the small fire out?

i hope whoever owned the car was made whole by " the licensed dealer " unless the car was in dealer inventory and not on consignment.

    bad situation all around.

great parts car, but not worth fixing unless you have a body shop and lots of bored employees with nothing to do.

    Hey George,
I see a lot of work to get this car right. If you want a project and don't care too much about what you've spent at the end of the day, it might be OK. The comments about the fog light are right on. Virtually impossible to find at a reasonable price.

It might be better to look for a well sorted car...especially right now. It's a buyers market and cash is king.
