That calls for a road trip. I really like the color combination.

Thank you! You guys are right I think I will fly down and drive it back next weekend. I love the Ferrari's but the service bills scare the hell out of me. I know there reliable and all but $5000 clutch jobs and such just knock my budget for a loop. I'm a sucker for a convertable roadster.

It got down to either a Maserati Coupe or Spyder or this Panoz.

Panoz was more money (used) but I can take it to any ford dealer or nicer service shop and have it worked on. So ownership cost are less.

Still have a rare exotic sports car that gives me a connection to the world of supercars.

Still has a great sound out the pipes.

I like the connection to ALMS since the Panoz Family owns the American Le Mans Series and races the Panoz in it.

GPImports is the local dealer and if I need anything they're right up the road.

I VOTED WITH THE POCKET BOOK: PANOZ.

Actually I really think this one is a keeper.

WOW, congrats Wayne, that's a big change from the Masser but I like it. Can't wait to see NEXT WEEK AT C&C... That is if you've flown down and DRIVEN it back home.. Also, are there back seats?

Beautiful choice. If I were going to drive it home, I wouldn't drive it without a clear bra. I once made that mistake driving home from So. California. The front end was peppered, and I ended up respraying when I got home.

If you have the time, perfect opportunity to drive the full run of Highway 1 in San Diego to the end of Highway 101 in Seattle.

No back seat just the room for me and the boy OR the wife if I'm lucky, I struggled with this versus the Maser or Porsche that would always give me the option to take both. In the end the convertable top and also the color combo grabbed me and wouldn't let go.

Road trip has been confirmed so now I'm trying to decide to go down next friday by myself and drive back or wait until the next week when my son is out of school and fly both of us down and make it a father son experience and take our time over a couple of days.

The car is in San Francisco, so it's only 9 hours from home. I want to check out Fantasy Junction while I'm in town. They have a great inventory of classic sports cars and race cars.

Now I need to go pick up the perfect new CD for the road trip.

I made a similar (but longer) trip with my son a couple years ago. Flight to pickup car at Aston Martin of Atlanta... two weeks, 5,000 miles, 13 tornados, a dozen states and numerous landmarks later, memories were solidified like so many treasures in amber...

Here's a shot from the famous Route 66

Thanks for the motivation guys. Had a fun trip. Flew into San Fran ahead of scheduale. Dealer had me off and away with in 20 minutes. Met up with another Panoz owner in SF and shared lunch and stories at the Cliff House on the ocean front drive. Follwed him through some of the nicer areas of the cithy and then off we went up the 101 until we got up to hwy 20 and then wound are way through the wineries and lake recreation areas ending up at a nice casino resort for dinner, swimming and arcade games with the boy. Next morning we made the 6 plus hour drive home and parked my new baby in its new little home.

    Good Road Trip.
