Is there any truth to this? Heard they filed for chapter 11 and are going to "try" to reorganize.

Greenwich, Boston, Orange County, Calabassas, are all closed, inventory either sold off or sold back to Lamborghini. Owner of Orange County/Calabasas was indicted and recently took a plea for fraud against VW Credit and is facing 30 years and millions in fines.

Dealerships worldwide are closing their doors, this started happening back in October, people who have held on this long - I tip my hat, they have struggled - no one, except Hyundai and Kia have had any months even close to the prior years....

I am sure we will see many more dealerships closing in the future, the one's who make it after we get past this economic crisis will be thriving with less competition.

Absolutely NOTHING - it's business as usual. This is NOT a liquidation it's a RE-ORGANIZATION.

"really a shame" IMO would be closing the doors. They are open, and more positive then ever... for them its time to 'rise to the ocassion' and they are, I commend them for their tenacity.

I would be confident buying any car from them, in fact, I am considering trading my A8L, and S550 AMG for a Flying Spur and possibly picking up a 2008 F430 Coupe Black/Black with yellow stitching and calipers, F1 they just took in - it only has about 1800 miles and is gorgeous. I saw it yesterday, came in on friday as a trade.

I am far from a 'shill', I am a loyal customer of Champion and I also own an enclosed transport company. I ship all the vehicles in/out of Champion Motor Group and have a very friendly relationship with the owners. I am very informed of the current status and have commented as such.

If you have any doubts, please feel free to visit the dealership yourself. I am simply educating the public as to the truth.

I spend much time there and have an office within the building as well for my company. They have been very generous and accomodating to my company, hence the relationship we built. I have actually been a customer since 1999, so 10 years later I will continue to buy cars from them....

I am certain they will be around for many more years to come.

well that is a much more "open" and transparent post..you have a "vested interested" in their survival...you are much more than just an observer vis-a-vis champions survival..your business depends on them..at least now a reader can determine for themselves the weight they put on your posts..thanks for clearing that up...

Typical cynical post. I do not work for Champion and no one placed me as a "shill". I have 3 offices and have a plethora of work and clients. One of them being Champion. By no means do I exist and/or survive on their work exclusively.

I am merely offering some substance of facts. I am certain they have the will and means to rise up.

No you wish them harm? It would be shameful for anyone to feel that way. If it's wrong to support a valued friend then I am guilty.

Not really a dog in this fight but I do have to say to come to us with you're apparent inside information gleaned from having an office in their building does make you look suspicious. Maybe not your shirt but you do have a significant vested interest to gain or loose in their operations reputation.

Though I applaud you for coming clean in with you're business interest in Champion, you're unashamed and unabashed support of them while saying you have nothing to do with them make you look... well... like a shill.

Well all I can add at this point is that I wish them the very best. You can all judge whomever you want which has always been the climate here on this forum.

I merely stated my position and facts. Everyone seems to have a very obtuse method of thinking and ultimately thrive on peoples alleged losses as seen in the ccx thread.

The initial point of this thread was an announcement and not a witch hunt. I was trying to help people understand in order to avoid more useless rumors and banter.

I'm done on to bigger and better things - the rain cleared out and my buddy just got in a new ecu tune for the f430. Claims a 60hp+ gain with tubi. Gonna check the dyno.

I have no vested interest in Champion. My family and I have bought many cars from them (Aston Martins, Porsches, Mercedes. BMW's etc.), and they (owners and sales people) have always been gracious and helpful when ever I needed them. What other car dealer can you go to, and all the sales people are as knowledgable as us? They have turned a small used car showroom from their original location on Jericho Turnpike to what I believe became a museum. They sparred no expense to build that place. They gave us (car guys) a place to go and spend an hour or two on a rainy Sunday. I found the place to be a little dangerous. On more than one occasion, I went just to see the cars, and ended up trading my car for something they just got in. I really hope Gary, and Michael (and of course Vinny) the very best. I am one customer that hopes that they pull through this (if true), and the whole situation becomes a memory. If they don't, they will be missed, and I only wish them the very best. They are smart business men, and they will wind up on their feet.

As per definition in Wikipedia: A shill is an associate of a person selling goods or services or a political group, who pretends no association to the seller/group and assumes the air of an enthusiastic customer.

I never denied being associated to Champion - and never pretended to be someone else, I am a loyal customer who years later conducted business with them as well. I stated both of these items without covering up anything at all. But thanks for the accusations.

Prior to your post of "is globallambo a shill" if I had stated "I am only a customer" then yes I would be considered a 'shill'. But since I never pretended or tried to convince anyone that I was merely a customer, I am not a shill. Read the posts in chronological order and I never alleged or pretended to be anything but a customer, friend, and having done business with them... but again - it's an open forum and you are entitled to your opinion and interpretation.

But again, thanks for the banter, it kept me busy on my iphone while on the treadmill earlier....

    Since 1999?

Ahhh.... remember the good old days when they had a little setup in Woodbury? I was very good friends with the owner of that building hence I got to know the Champion guys very well. Since then they have really become something, although now they're no doing so well, hope they get themselves back together.

I pass by the new building a lot, it looks great! Have to go check the place out!

My first interaction was in 1990 when I was looking for my first exotic. I was only 17 with a dream. I stumbled on their location when they were further down jericho tpke in Woodbury when they had permanent office trailers.

I am embarassed to admit I was looking at TVR Tasmin 280i. LOL

But the black Lambo lm002 they had was what I really wanted.
