I want to change gear oil on my F1 360. Manual says Shell transaxle oil 75W90. But no chance to buy here smaller bottle than 20L barell. I need only 3,5L. Any advice for alternative oil? I can not get Redline, its not here available, so no solution for me. Found here that maybe Valvoline 75W90 GL5 will work?

Can't you get someone on ebay to ship it? I bought Redline 75W90 off ebay the other day and noticed there were quite a few people selling it.

If you change the gear oil frequently enough, I suspect just about any half way decent 75W90 oil will be fine.

Valvoline 75W-90 fully synthetic GL5 works great in my 575M and will in your 360, as well. Brian Crall (Rifledriver) says to change it every year

I switched to the redline. Used the one w/o slip agent, then added two bottles of friction modifier. Car shifts better than w/ the shell. My mechanic also recomended the royal purple; but I don't remember which formula.

Hi Petr, I am also looking to buy the same RedLine oil for my car. I have tracked down a supplier of RedLine products in the UK but they don't ship outside of the UK :(. Let me know what you require and I can ship it to you. Here is a link to their website although it doesn't actually list the 75W90 oil, only the auto transmission stuff!

I will send you the link to a thread as soon as I find it. I did a change as did several others here. Not too hard but for gear oil you will need to pull the bumper to clean the screens.

Thanks John. I've just had an email from Greg Calo with a pdf of the procedure, it's attached below if it can help others out too. Thanks again Greg :).

Just look at the recent thread .... all you need is there. Answer is Ravenol VSG 75w-90. It is very good, I can testify it changed the shifts to better...

It would be best to use an oil with both GL4 and GL5 specs 75w/90. Porsche used such an oil in some of their manual shift cars Mobilube PTX 75w/90. This should be available through Porsche service outlets.

The Ravelol VSG 75w/90 also meets those specs.

I found Shell Spirax AXRME 75w-90 GL-5 at Keller-Heartt but you have to order 12 quarts. We split the order with another owner.
