good point ! the GC council here shut down the only place young guys had to ake their cars to meet up in Surfers and now they're biching about them causing trouble in the MIDDLE of the Surfers CBD !!!! You take away places for the young people to enjoy themselves that had little to no effect on the community and they'll find somewhere you won't be happy with
roughly..... whats the cost to build a race track... excluding land/facilities.... not to FIA standards, but something respectable to be used on a weekly basis.
Mallala, its open 360 days a year........its a race track, has some form of drift surface, long enough rear section for drag racing.........get a CAMS lic and get onto it, the only problem is that the morons wont wanna pay for track use
(Very) rough estimate would be in the tens of millions if you were starting from scratch. And where would it be? There is a plan before the Murray Bridge council at the moment for a new purpose built track to be built between Murray Bridge and Tailem Bend.
ive always thought the idea of a SPA-like track somewhere near hahndorf... in the middle of a valley somewhere, natural sound barrier of hills... always green etc...
and that will never happen if you are talking the ex mitsubishi test track the cost is not that bad.....well it is expensive, the killer is insurance, we looked at a dirt go kart track at Kangarilla and even after disclaimers were signed the risk of litigation is massive. There is an FIA spec go kart track at Monarto which is great and is rated the best in Aust according to CAMS. Either way unless Govt money comes in there is little chance of privateers building a track anywhere near Adelaide
Having lived in Hahndorf for 18 years the locals would never allow it. I think a top spot would be by the freeway at Callington.
No, I'm talking this side of Tailem Bend not the old test track. This is a private venture and may not even be open to the public.
But I thought you knew everything? Oh no, that's PP! I'll try and find out more info. One of the 356 club members is on the Murray Bridge council.
