Does anyone else agree that our lovely UK 'tech' host, Steve Matchett, doesn't know the difference between a car and a SHASSEEE(as he calls it)??
Drives me nuts when he calls the car a SHASSSEEEE for two hours!! The chassis is part of the car, but its not the car. You don't drive a chassis, you drive a car(even in England)!!! The chassis is just a part of the car(albeit a large part!)

"And here comes Alonso hustling the Renault SHASSEEEE.......ugh....

Doesn't bother me one bit. It is the Sarcasm channel. Do you prefer someone say, "and there goes the Renault car"?

What does bother me about SpeedTV is their HD feed has the widescreen cut off.

At least you get to hear Steve on Speed. Speed TV F1 program is now blacked out in the Canadian market due to 'rights issues'. Never a problem for many years before this year. NO Montreal F1 race and no Friday practice anymore here either...

It's the English pronunciation. Additionally he refers to the cars by chassis as that's the difference between the Brawn and McLaren for example.

Well, technically he is correct in many instances. It is a McLaren Chassis (or tub is you prefer), powered by a Mercedes Engine making a McLaren-Mercedes Car. It is a Brawn Chassis, powered by a Mercedes engine, making a Brawn-Mercedes car.

Renault, Ferrari, and Toyota have chassis and engine made by the same manufacturer, so he could simply refer to is as a Renault, but his "verbal shorthand" refers to them all as chassis likely as a carry over from when he worked for the Benetton team.
Benetton Chassis, powered by a Cosworth Engine, making it a Benetton-Cosworth car.

Not as bad as Peter Windsor's gaff that apparently no one on the broadcast picked up on: He referred to Moss winning the 1955 Targa Florio, instead of the Mille Miglia...

Moss won both of those.............but I didn't hear the broadcast so I don't know the context.

Windsor does know his history though, unlike a lot of people involved in 'F1' who aren't aware of anything that happened before their involvement started.

He referred to Moss receiving hand signals from Jenks, which was during the Mille Miglia. Moss' co-drivers for the Targa were Peter Collins and Hans Herrmann.

I talked to my father and a friend, both in TO and I had to send them each a copy of the race. Was the race showed on Sunday afternoon{the repeat}?

The race would have been listed too but still blacked out when it was supposed to air. Odd.
