Absolutely correct. It was just featured in MINI Magazine, and BMW North America asked me to bring it down to show them this afternoon when they saw the article.
Well... I've met Matt a few times at various events, spoke w/ and raced with him at Grand Prix New York, and even helped out with the Garage 419 invitational... And not once on any occasion that I've been around Matt has he ever acted like or come off as ****** in any respect. I think that all he was trying to say is that the whole deal with the CCX is a little sketchy, and now that this "incident" has occured with the car, maybe some truth will come out. And damn, this thread was made to tell everyone about the mishap with the CCX, and to hear everyone's opinion.
I am here because I am an avid car collector of Italian and exotic/rare vehicles. Someone who shares an opinion based on unknown facts, then 'laughs' at one's misfortune, then continues with boasting about a mini-cooper IMO should hang out on 'mini-chat' That's all, look, the people in possession of the CCX had a mishap, it happens, get over it, if it's not your car why would you care? I say we all move on to bigger and better things to discuss, it's amazing in this world how we as a society thrive on negativity. "Man robs a bank - police chase - then kills himself - News at 11pm" That is the first aired story, and at the very end.... Stay tuned for "Girls youth soccer team saves a baby from be trampled by a crowd of spectators" What's more important? Some lunatic that tried to rob a bank and kills himself? I say, BRAVO! Now I don't have to support this criminal with my tax dollars! Someone buy the girls soccer team new uniforms and celebrate! But no, our society will focus on the negative! Just as they did with the CCX, I give these guys credit for driving the car, how many people actualy drive their exotics? I know I do.....
Very well said Seth. **** happens get over it and move on. Yea it sucks that the car was crash but at the end of the day it is still just a car.
And to defend Champion apparently. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=222424 http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=138530133&posted=1#post138530133 Seth, it is not good to be known as a lier or a shill here.
Another sad attempt at smearing my credibility. Sad to lend nothing but useless posts. I suppose I am a shill for this company as well. I am just a pathetic in my own existence.... NOT Why kick people? I find no use in putting people down or screwing with their personal or business life?
Wow Seth!!! That is easy to solve!!! Here you go! Don't speak, or pretend to speak publicly, for a company you do not represent. When you do, and are drastically wrong as you were, it is embarrassing. (For you and them.) Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am not pretending to be anything, I hope this is all warming your heart. I am sure this is improving your quality of life. Image Unavailable, Please Login
i would be really happy to, because i hate when people parade their wealth. But, i hope that the driver and if there was a passenger are o.k, because if you dont care about another person thats messed up
Sorry to hear. The owner of the car had lent us one of his other cars for a charity event @ the hospital.Didn't he have the CCX before before the dealer existed? I been wanting to get out and see it. As the owner of a few collector cars in the past if you can still call them that {sadly American muscle} The "parading" and the press that comes with it won't hurt its value at anytime.
If it had "got smashed with a lot of damage" Since you're saying this, you must have pics showing how badly damaged it is? Wanna post them?
Okay... Now that this thread is alive, I would just like to clear one thing up. Some people have been telling me to stop kissing ass after what I said up there. ^ That was not my intent, in fact I hate ass-kissers or anyone phony. I was merely saying that the point of this thread WAS to inform the automotive community about a very rare car that has been damaged, and that it wasn't made to start arguments. Anyways, I don't think I said before but would like to say now: I'm glad everyone is okay that was involved in the accident and I hope the repairs will be quick so the car is back on the road. I got a chance to meet the car at last year's Scarsdale concours, where about 1/2 of my pictures are of the CCX. I, for one, don't think that the owner of the CCX, or Universal Auto Sports is sketchy. In fact, I met one of the representatives who brought the CCX to Scarsdale, and he was very welcoming and even let me snap a few more shots of the car being loaded back onto the trailer.
I have pics of the car not "smashed with a lot of damage"! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jason posts on here saying the car crashed without any proof that it happened. If Universal hadn't come on here and said it crashed, we still wouldn't have seen any proof that it had crashed (let alone badly). Coming back and saying the car was badly damaged after Universal have denied that (they said the front splitter shattered. Hardly bad damage) hurts the car's value and Universal's reputation I've been threatened legally by someone over a similar situation. I'm just saying we all need to be thoughtful/careful about what we say online Just my 0.02
from what i can gather here , speedracer has been on the money on every one of his counts. so give him a minute to respond
Reading isn't one of your strong points: Jason stated that he heard the car was crashed. The question mark after his original statement would lead me to believe he wasn't sure and trying to confirm. Now you are accusing him of slander for asking a question? You can apologize to him now.
