Finally got a F355 in the shop for install and dyno runs!

What new gaskets did you need to replace? The big donuts connect to the cats? Or the smaller gaskets (8) that connect to the engine blocks. I plan on swapping mine with a rebuild units in a couple weeks.

 

I replaced the donuts and the engine side gaskets; fairly cheap and I don't want to do the job again if they leak!

Here's my Fabspeed headers, ceramic coated by a vendor in CT (the guy who designed the coatings for Airborne did it). Still looking great, almost 1 yr and a few k miles.

Thanks Jay, I already got the donuts. I am just contemplating on the engine side gaskets for $20 apiece...

 

Those gaskets are metal and conform to the interface. Old ones come out formed to the OEM headers and fairly nasty looking (oxidized). I wouldn't think twice about $20 for new...also replaced all the rusty header nuts.

 

nice gains of the graphs but for the love of god,

please post dyno charts in RPM's instead of MPH....

why do people care fast the wheels are spinning especially on a non-load bearing type dyno?

Maybe it's time for me to install those headers from the Red Bull Ferrari engine......should be good to 19,000rpm's or 50mph which ever occurs first.

Who cares about low end torque/hp when racing a VW Beatle to the next red light.... the Georgia state troopers keep telling me that 70 in a 35mph zone is breaking the law and ceramic coating always leaves a bad taste on those hamburger patties.

How much does it cost to replace those cylinder liners??.....I already have a price on rebuilding the heads...lol

Should have everything on the week of the 13th.

We have a Dynojet 424xLC2 with dual eddy currents. Load tests can be performed including step, sweep and loaded roll on. Closed loop load testing is also available by targeting engine RPM. A simple click of the mouse or keyboard can turn this Model 424xLC2 back into an inertia only dynamometer or into a dual eddy current unit.

If you go up a couple posts I clearly stated why the dyno chart was shown over MPH.

That's the same model I use locally. The owner opted for the OBDII attachment that will log all (or most?) ODBII channels during the run. I'm anxious to see how it will work with the 355.

Jeremy I forgot to ask about header blankets.
Tubi uses header blankets on their manifolds and claims they are running cooler than the stock steel heat shields.
Have you tried installing header blankets (without ceramic coatings) on the fabspeed manfolds?

If so have you tested them with a thermal scanner to see how they compare to either the ceramic coating or the factory steel heat shields?

We do not supply header blankets with our headers. If you go with the creamic coated headers I have tested the difference of temperature with a infrared thermal scanner and have seen the Fabspeed ceramic coated headers are around 38 degrees cooler than the stock manifolds. We also have the new heatshields available for the alternator and compressor. Here are the pictures that I promised.

 

Is it me or do the whp figures for that 355 seem on the low side?

Standard 355 is 380ish-bhp take the standard transmission loss of 20% = 304whp??? Yet the car you are testing has 310 with ALL the mods? Doesnt seem right to me unless that engine is in real bad shape or the gearbox has no oil! heh

Impressive gains top end tho despite the seeminly low whp figures!
