Still... money wise not a bad deal given it comes with original barchetta + original wheels ... I paid more than that fo rmine at 10K on the odo.....
Henry- If you can get it for $200, however, who cares? Lots of 550 owners would love to have that set of Barchetta wheels. Taz Terry Phillips
The BWS car ('00 FHP/Daytonas/Wheels) couldn't bring even 10K less..... This Corvette guy must have ingested some rather bad cheese.....
Sure, but that was euro, so.... The lowest mileage one I heard about was a 1600-miler 2001 TdF that's been for sale FOREVER with no takers. Ultra low mileage on these cars is not always a slam dunk positive thing. All things else being equal, I'd take a reasonable mileage Maranello with immaculate records over some ultra low miler with sketchy docs any day. ketel
1 sale defines the market for a Honus Wagner card. 1 sale does not define the market for a Honda Accord. I would think the 550 market would be somewhere in between.
so...whats the official color of this car? im getting ready to paint my softtail project and this is the color i want!!! doug
Hammered in depreciation? Much more than $25k you won't ever take off - which on a V12 Ferrari is a pretty damn decent deal. Anyway - depreciation is only for people who sell their cars. Just keep it and it won't ever bother you. Also - Americans need to lighten up on the bloody mileage on modern Ferraris. These things are made to drive, and they are NOT museum pieces - there are plenty of them out there. You are NOT driving a 250GTO - correction, plenty of GTO's are driven more than American 550's. Mileage is not important - it needs to be a well sorted car with a good interior. There are plenty out there with low mileage that do not qualify, and plenty with high mileage that do. Onno
My take on Henry's post is that there is no need to pay a premium for a low mileage F car that will depreciate much more in the hands of an actual driving enthusiast. Sellers holding out for top dollar for their modern garage queens are going to find bubble buyers fewer and farther between. Who really cares about miles on a modern car?
