The new Range Rusters have a rear window defroster that blows on the outside. Designed to help keep your hand warm while pushing it.

    This discussion has no end...

Had the 06 sc full size , put some 50,000 miles on it without one service call beyond recomended.
have an 08sc now same car with 18,000 miles same luck...

Every time I drive it I praise it as the best utilitarian car ever made..EVER !
The Engine,The Stereo, the suspension,The Big Brakes, the cabin insulation, the ergonomics, the fit and finish everywhere is unparelled.

    What give here?

I think the key to the debate is the mileage.....ANYTHING past 50,000 miles = forget about it, POS! You sir have had the fortune of the pleasant first 50K miles where all the attributes of the car haven't broke yet, but they do, right after 50K miles! And they ALL break, one by expensive one.....AAAARRRGGHHHH, I love/hate my Range Rover :D

What year is yours? Again the 03-05 are very poor compared to 06+.

There is a local here with 110k miles on just service on an 06 supercharged.

Although i must confess i'm not a big fan of them, we have a new Cosworth Kahn one in stock in white, and the thing goes really well, the finish and fit seems good, and although it's the Diesel engine'd one it sounds like a big American V8. Can't comment on the reliability though.....

Your anti Land Rover act is becoming a little played out on this forum and others. Instead of rehashing the same information about front differential failure rates, why don't you attempt to add something insightful and helpful to other area's of this forum. If you are going to spew out information about the problem, then back it up with some actual facts and statistics other than personal experiences and sympathy stories. Can you tell anyone what the actual failure rate was for all NA cars? LRNA addressed the issue by offering an updated front driveshaft kit and while it may have been a day late and a dollar short for some individuals (such as yourself), they did address the problem and at no cost to the customer. My guess is that your car was under warranty when your differential failed so it would have been replaced at no cost to you. Your main arguement continues to be how the car left your whole family stranded on the side of the highway. This is an unfortunate incident and I understand that it certainly does not instill trust and confidence in the vehicle when your front wheels begin to lock for no apparent reason, but not every part of any given vehicle is going to function 100% correctly at any given time. Parts do fail, it is mechanical after all. If you don't trust it, then sell it and buy something else which you have, but ease up on the negativity. Chances are your Ferrari's have given you just as much hassle, if not more, but because your passionate about that marque, you cease to complain. I would venture to say that roughly 65% of all your posts on this forum are merely useless negative comments about Land Rover's. It seems as if everytime you log onto a forum, your sole purpose is to bash the marque. Take it with a grain of salt, but at the end of the day, Land Rovers, particularly Range Rovers, are great vehicles. Yes they have their quirks and faults but it is just part of owning one of the most luxurious and off-road capable SUV's of the modern times.

Well shopboy, we must all be grateful to have a person as wise you on this forum. The title of this thread is "Help....Wife wants another Range Rover...... " , so I am sorry if you consider me posting my personal experiences a "symapathy story". I am thankful that you have never had the experience of unbuckling your child out of his carseat on the highway while trucks rush by at 70 mph .

Just to respond to some of your juvenile idiotic statements:
    1) http://www.rangerovers.net/repairdetails/drivetrain/frontdiff.html That should answer most of your question on the failures and rates. Learn to use Google. It was #1.
    2) Car was under warranty. Attempted to trade in immediately after repair and dealer (LR Fort Worth) did not want car and offered 20% below Blue Book . Even more comical, they wanted list price for new sport sc which the dealer promised was more reliable.
    3) The rr never was returned to my garage. We immediately traded it in ( obviously not on another LRNA vehicle) at a signifiant loss, so as you intelligently recommended we, "sold it and got something different".
    4) Sorry, none of my F cars have ever " given me just as much hassle". Family can't fit in them and I have never been stranded by one.
    5) You say "but at the end of the day, Land Rovers, particularly Range Rovers, are great vehicles."

Apparently, J.D. Power and Associates does not share in your opinion. See graph above and many others that can easily be found on the previously mentioned Google.com.

And you attacked me, unprovoked, for sharing my " sympathy story"???? Why?

If this was the first time you posted the story that you continue to post, I would have been a little more lenient. I have sat on the sidelines and watched you post the exact same negative information and stories about Land Rovers for the past six months. At this point it really begins to start sounding like a broken record and I felt that it was time someone called you out on it. I appreciate you insulting my ability to use both the internet as well as google. I am rather familiar with both as well as www.rangerovers.net. My guess is you didn't come across this website until you began having problems with your vehicle. Did you educate yourself about Land Rover's prior to buying? For the past six years I have worked in both the independent repair industry and dealer networks for Land Rover North America. I won't continue to qualify myself, but needless to say, I know the vehicles exceptionally well and feel that Land Rover builds a quality product. Of course there is always going to be someone who disagree's. Out of the thousands of Land Rover owner's I have dealt with in my career, I have yet to come across a single individual who has had as much hatred for the brand as yourself. I can accept that. There are numerous products in life that I despise; however, the world doesn't need to hear about it every second of the day. I guess that's what forums are for. To address Land Rover of Fort Worth offering you 20% less than the truck booked at, well thats rather commonplace. This must have been the first time you had attempted to sell a car back to the dealership. Considering your situation, I too am surprised that they didn't offer an incentive to purchase another vehicle. Fortunately I have not had the experience of unbuckling a child out of the vehicle on a freeway. I would feel confident in stating that this probably happens on a daily basis in all types of different vehicles for multiple reasons. Not a reason to single a particular brand out in my opinion. Why don't you do yourself a favor and review all your own postings. There's at least three or four worthless posts just in this topic alone that came after your first post regarding your differential failure. Fortunately for you and your family, there should never be any shortages of H2's, GL450's, and Escalade's...

I have been REALLY harsh on Range Rover, because I own a POS Range Rover and have never had anything CLOSE to the amount of problems and breakdowns and HORRIBLE experiences with any other car like I have had with mine. I parked it, because I can't sell the worthless piece of crap (no one wants it!) and bought a Subaru with 150K miles and it purrs like a kitten!!! If I could recover all the money I THREW AWAY on that car, I could add an F-car to my stable! If my wife (I am not married :D )wanted a Range Rover, I would get a NEW WIFE!!!

    Bravo.

shopboy, what is "worthless" (as you call my posts), are your ridiculous juvenile attacks on me.
Once again, read the title of this thread. If you want to start a thread and attack individuals for posting their experiences, go start a thread about that. I am sure the mods will quickly rid the forum of your ability to "spew" "worthless" insults.

Chill out - I'm with shopboy. I think he posted a fair and reasonable comment in that your multiple posts begin to get tiring and the more they are repeated the less impact they have. Sorry you had such an experience and I hope you are happier without your Range Rover and can get past it. As for this thread - well the OP already has one trouble free Range Rover and loves it - he is really asking whether or not to buy now or wait a little for the next model - so the question isn't "should I get a Range Rover" as that is already a given.
