My car is NO Concurse entrant-- EVER.

    Rant ON-

But the way I see it, stone chips (and I point them out even to the crowd) are:

Badges of Honor. It IS DRIVEN !!!!!!

If you don't want/need no stinking "badges" ...

... donate it to a museum.

    Rant Off

    Have a .... NICE day. :D

No seat covers here. I've learned to get in and out of the car properly.

I don't know when roughing your car up became a badge of honor. I can appreciate the owner who throws caution to the wind, and I can also respect those who drive their cars and resign themselves to doing resprays every few years (its looks like I will end up in that camp). I drive my car more than probably 75% of Ferrari owners (est. 5K a year). I pride myself on maintaining the exterior/interior and mechanicals. Yesterday, for example, two people stopped me, both thought my car was brand new. So, rather than a badge, I am looking for some good suggestions from those who drive their cars, on pointers they have learned to avoid roughing up their car. In addition to being all things mechanical, a Ferrari is, after all, also a work of art.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

Drive it & when they annoy you spray the front again. Only way around it. For the cost of the clear 3m film - by the time that would yellow you can spray to new again.

My front was just resprayed so I am now restarting the "chip clock". Dont worry about'em.

I saran wrap my seats since I have not mastered getting in out aside without loosing composure. The best thing for stone chips is the spray-on bed liner for trucks. Looks trick and allows be to bash into shopping carts at the Walmart without damage.

    You guys quit complaining!

I had a loose 18 wheeler LUG BOLT tossed up from the shoulder once!

I hit the hood, then the wiper arm and thankfully deflected over the car. I could see it coming even at night and if it had came thru the glass it would have hit my face.

You can see the thread pitch, in the dent on the wiper arm...LOL!

Tried the saran rap...got kind of sticky after a while so I gave that up. Then I tried wrapping the car in saran rap...flew off and got sucked into the air intake...not good (luckily I had the grills in the intake). I'm going for bubble rap next... wish me luck!

For those of us new to F-cars, it would be helpful to see a sequence of photos, illustrating the proper ingress/egress procedure. Thank you.

Forget the Saran Wrap. Keep a few large bottles in the car, Big red. ;)

I got ya. I Understand. Love my car too and do not intensionally do anything to hurt it.

I just gave up worrying about it. Nothing will stop chips, except not driving it.

I have not tried the raps or bras myself, but each has serious draw backs from experiences on friend's various cars over the years. Bras: scuffs from constant shifting and, believe it or not, mold. Clear plastic raps when they get hit, they "tear" and bunch-up and really look crappyer than a paint chip. Maybe the newer materials are better.

To keep damage to a minimum, I have just made it a habit of not driving behind gravel trucks. :D

The male version - just don't pull your dress down and keep your legs open.
