There are two great things about cars --

    1) Even less capable cars can be just as (if not more) amazing than the best

    2) Cars ALWAYS wind up better, faster, quicker, more impressive

So there are plenty of cars to look forward to after driving an Enzo!

Rode in several before but the first I actually drove was a 330 GTC that belonged to Gary Thieltges in Glendale, CA back in the mid-1990s. Can't recall the s/n but I have it somewhere.

First Ferrari driven was a 308 GTSi. The car handled beautifully, was very agile. It has a mechanical feel compared to the power assists in modern Ferrari cars, which for me, made it a thrill to drive!

My 246 Dinogt after 2 years of rescuing a basket case. I can remember how nervous I was to break it.

That was my first step in my life long addiction. Unfortunately I have been able to stop and I cannot break from this car marque's evil hold on my life. I now have my fourth and I cannot wait for number five.

Would someone please direct me to the Ferrari Owners Annonimous website?

For the first drive, I got to drive my 330 2+2 home, then the rescue started.

My wife would certainly direct me to FOA. I started late, but am now on #2 and thinking towards #3.

Mine was a 348, I did not even want to drive but my friend insisted. Well not used to the seating position being so far inboard I went to go around a stick in the road and I hit it sending it flying upward into the paint. Before the ride was over I did the same thing again with a piece of drywall lying in the street, I thought i went around but the back tires just stuck out more than I thought. At least the drywall just layed there and did not fly up. But this is a drive I'll always remember my freind thought iwas a good enough driver then I did this with him in the passenger seat.

When I drove my 73 246 GTS off the showroom floor for a test drive.
It was funny as they handed me the keys and the salesperson was assisting a guy open the sliding doors of the showroom. I hopped in, started it and drove out onto their lot, and they went bonkers 1. an insurance nono, and 2. I think they thought I was about to drive off

That's funny! I had just the opposite happen when I bought my last BMW. The dealer actually has a stage with lights in the showroom next to the double doors. It's an area where you can have your picture taken driving your dream ride off of the showroom floor. They deliver all of their cars in this manner. The salesman was surprised and disappointed when I told him to just drive my car onto the lot. It's my wife's freak'n daily driver, not a Pagani Zonda.

I'm not surprised that so many had their first turn behind the wheel when they were purchasing their first Ferrari. That's when I drove one for the first time.

First Ferrari I ever sat in as a passenger - 1989 328 GTS, 83075, Red, Cream, Black carpets. First Ferrari I owned - 1989 328 GTS, 83075... I can still remember every moment of my first drive - took it straight to my parents house and took my dad out for a drive. Was his first ride in a Ferrari too.

I had just graduated and was completely broke. Took a job in Greenwood Village CO, living with a very wealthy family and providing tutoring for their children after they came home from school and I came home from work.

The next door neighbor made his living, somehow, just by playing the stock market.

One day he came home with a "new" Dino 246. I was just 22, but when I inquired jokingly that I'd love to drive it, he tossed me the keys, then hopped in on the passenger side, explaining that he had yet to experience riding in it rather than driving.

Having only driven front-engined cars until then, the Dino was a real experience. Even if not the most powerful car in the world, it FELT very, very fast - partly because of the roar of the engine right behind me, partly because the car was relatively small and close to the ground.

I had always admired Ferraris, but that sealed the deal for me.

(Of course, I planned to get a "real" Ferrari, and not "just" a 6-cylinder "almost Ferrari." I think that Dinos were still a lot less than 308s at that time. Now, I'd kill to have a Dino!)
