Michelin tires, movable floorboards and other great innovations have been killed for no apparent reason in the past. I just don't trust the FIA's judgment these days...it's an evolutionary step in F1 development, it aids competition even in the face of them attempting to make it a spec series, it has given backmarkers from the past the front of the grid this season, and (most importantly) a car that't more aerodynamically stable is a safer car.

All said, I hope this creates better cars for the big teams, but I'm left feeling the same way you do. I thought the moveable floorboards were creative last year and represented a competitive step forward in F1 development.

Apolgies for any misleading info, LdM is chair of FOTA, i beleive RB is head of the Technical working group.

Perhaps they could use duck tape!!!!!!!!! to block off the hole. Seriously i know its not that simple

It was intended to aid overtaking but in reality it does effectively slow them down. You couldn't make the Hondas of last year faster by technical changes (or can you!!) but you can make the fast cars, slower .

The idea was to remove the aero devices to slow the cars down. KERS was supposed to give a boost to overtaking and become tactical. At the moment they are using it to keep up with the others!

To put it in perspective, if you worked as a garbage pick-up man, you'd get used to the smell.

Very well said. It'll only be a matter of time before Ferrari gets back up front. Remember that car development starts quite early before the race season, and last year's championship fight took its toll on resources. We all had inflated expectations of Ferrari and Mclaren coming in despite major formula changes b/c they were 1 & 2 last year.

While I don't always like LdM's way of doing things, I'd still say that overall he's done an excellent job.
