Cigar Guys - Any Here?

As far as I understand there was no change in the embargo itself. So no cigars for americans.

 

Never had any of those. Any good?

Never heard of the columbia cafe... Is it different from the Columbia restaurant? or part of it?

 

I got a bunch of cigars from my dad's stash (I won't even call it a collection), and was hoping you guys could let me know if these are good, great, crap, etc:

Fittipaldi (I assume a private label deal, who made them?)
Macanudo Gold Label
Upmann Coronas Major
Upmann Tubos (so named b/c it came in a tube?)
Macanudo Hyde Park Cafe

Thats a shame, they should lift the embargo on cigars so we can all discuss the same ones

Any advice for a new guy. All I've had was a saint luis rey serie g no. 6, and it was dang good?

BTW I'm listing to cigar dave and he's talking about a new tax bill in FL, that will tack on surcharges to cigars that are stored in homes if it passes. Has anyone else heard of this tax bill?

With out reading it, they would have a tough time knowing what I store at home.

 

That's what I was thinking, I'm not sure how they would enforce such a tax. I've been looking around and haven't found the actual bill to see how it's worded in there.

I have to be amazed you saw that back there! It is an original colt. The design that was later modified into the iconic 1911. It was my Great GrandFather's he carried when Dr'ing to the masses in North Ga. in the late 1800s

mine is the 1903 hammerless. My grandfather had it nickel plated and carried in the 40s and 50s at his bars. I need to pull it out and get some pics of it. I think it may be a shorter barrel than yours but cant be sure.

 

Wow, that would be a shorty! Mine is only 2 inches past the trigger guard.

It is the Columbia Resturant, My mistake.

They are pretty good. I am not savvy enough to pick out subtle flavors but they are constructed very well and draw fantastically.

 

My Colt Hammerless looks the same as that, just nickel plated with white plastic grips. Thought it was shorter but its not.

Tonight was an Ashton ESG. Tight draw, uneven burn, no flavor. Tossed it half way. Wish I had my 20$ back.
