I plan on taking delivery of my 09 F430 Spider in the next few weeks. I will have it shipped from the dealer to Ohio for this summer. My question is, where in NE Ohio can I take it to have a full 3M clear bra installed and the skid plates that I am ordering from Premier Motorsports today? In addition, I know the closest dealership is about 140 miles south in Columbus, is there anything closer for serivce in Akron/Canton/Cleveland area?

    Congrats on the new purchase!

I can't give you a recommendation right off of the top of my head (I'll do some checking though), but one thing I can tell you is that Ferrari ships their cars from the factory with less than stellar paint polishing. I'd highly recommend getting it refined prior to installing clear bra over it. If not, there's a good chance you'll have holograms and sanding pigtails locked in under the protection.

I did some checking...North Shore Tint (Marco) in the Parma area has a strong following with the exotic crowd. www.northshoretint.com.

You were able to get a new 09 Spider? I didn't think they even made them any more. No trying to say anything negative here, but why didn't you buy used? They are at huge discounts now.

I thought about used but frankly, the ones I saw (or wanted) 08's were in the 240k range with very low miles. The 09 wasn't that much more. In retrospect, I should have purchased a nice 06 or 07 for 180 - 200k and drove it like I stole it and then traded up to the new 450 or whatever its called. I don't plan on putting a lot of miles on it, maybe 500 a year and plan on keeping it for a while...until something else comes along that I like better and my wife lets me buy.

Great, thank you I'll look them up. Thanks for the tip on the paint. When I purchased mine they just took delivery of an 08 430 that looks like someone waxed it with a pork chop! It was unbelievable. I couldn't believe that Ferrari would let a 270k car leave the factory or arrive at a dealership in that condition. I told the dealer, if mine comes in and looks like that, they can keep it. (I'm sure they will try and clean it up before letting me know it arrived).

Waxed with a pork chop...funny stuff indeed!

Just because it's a Ferrari dealership, don't think that their detail department is any better than the factory (or other brand dealerships for that matter)! Their SOP is typically to throw on a glaze with heavy fillers if any defects are detected, and that wears off after the first wash. And I've seen them washing the painted parts with the same rag and water that they used on the wheels.

When I take delivery of my new vehicles, I won't even let the dealership remove the protective plastic off of the car. I drive them home with it still on, and it probably looks like I just stole the vehicle! :)

Make sure you post photos for us. What color did you get?

Forgot to mention the color. Typical Corsa Rosa with black leather interior with red stitching.
