Gorgeous, I just finished reading these entire thread! Didn't know you're the owner of this famous car & I'm so glad that you & Joe's sharing with us. (I'm the guy who would like to have the hi-res pics of your Farrah & Miura in the hanger, would like to print it for my wall)

I'm sure everyone agrees that this car is deserving to have such a passionate owner as you.

I've read several articles about this ex-Shah's car in different magazines some time back & if someone can correct me, did Nicolas Cage & another Iranian own this car before or was it something else?

That book gives a false view of Mohammed Mossadegh. He was a gangster, not a democratic reformer. Granted, having the CIA put a puppet in his place wasn't the ideal answer, but no one in Iran shed a tear when Mossadegh was deposed.

PS- Beautiful Miura...and many thanks for the beautiful hi-res pics of it- one of which is my new desktop pic.

I just noticed your post. Please do join our little group, in the political section of F.C.

I know a little bit about the CIA's role in the glorious 1953 coup. Last time I checked, it was good work by the CIA. Hat's off to the superb CIA case officers, who did excellent work in the early 1950's, by installing a pro-American regime. Hopefully, today, somebody in the CIA, can help get rid of the mullahs. With this administration, I doubt they will advance American interests around the globe. The information I wrote in post #122, is factual.

    John - HoT car !!

Thank you Kevin, and to Steve Algrim and all the judges of the Celebration Exotic Car Festival. I have photos if the three cars I brought , the LM, the downdraft and the Shah's car. I will post.

For those of you who have yet to attend this event, I highly recommend it. I think it's the best event in the country.

    A big Congrats John!

It's very special to win overall best of show out of 200+ cars at Celebration.

There have only been 5 before you, I believe they will be updating the website soon with the winners.

    Great seeing you again,

    Tony Ierardi

I jest went through this thread ans was going to ask about this very car. I also remembered the "Shah/Nicolas Cage car" being red, so this clears it up. :)

I had heard (years ago) that the Shah took this car on ski vacations. Am I seeing snow tires on the car in the photo? The tread blocks on the front look pretty aggressive.

Its an original 1971 Heuer Monaco, blue and white, same color and year of the car.

Tag made copies due to the popularity of the watch after Steve McQueen wore it in the movie LeMans.

You guys might be interested in this.

The Shah of Iran ordered his SVJ and other cars with Heuer Monte Carlo chronographs. Lamborghini in the early seventies had this as an option installed for special VIP customers.

When 4870 was recovered by a collector in Iran, much of the interior was stolen. Any chronographs in the car were not present.

This year, I found a mint condition, never used 1971 Monte Carlo chronographs which were used as original equipment. I intend to have this installed in 4870, which was likely original equipment for the shah
