Mark, I believe that's Michael Fux's car, and that the color is special-ordered.

Is he going to have the lower side panels painted? Looks kind of unfinished.

Jon- Those are the optional carbon fiber pieces. Too much money to paint over.

It's official. Between dark wheels and unpainted add-ons, I'm too old to understand modern car styling... :(

Fascinating color change! I noticed rosso corsa red has an orange look in the shade, yet bright red in sunlight, but that's an official Ferrari-endorsed color. Is this a new Ferrari color option or customized by the owner?

As for the carbon fiber, I have only seen black or silver. Carbon fiber has a beautiful surface depth look...too bad it doesn't show in these pictures.

Sure your not thinking about Rosso Scuderia? To me that color looks very orange.

Jon- I hate dark wheels as well. Some guy on the 360/430 forum painted his beautiful silver 430 wheels black and it was all I could do to keep from saying yucko. But I stifled myself. Tastes differ.

Jon, the bare carbon fiber skirts are not a styling exercise. They are purely a money-making tool. Hit or miss for aesthetics depending on the car, but a brilliant idea by someone at Ferrari.

but anyway, i do like to suggest a brand new color for Ferrari, it's a bit outdated and seldom seen after 1993. However, it's seen more and more lately in Maranello

the RED of the cheeks of montezemelo

Each to their own but this paint seems more suited to a Hot Wheels toy.

    Brilliant marketing idea, granted.

I realise aesthetics are all in the eye of the beholder, but I'm reminded of the BBS gold center wheels of the early 1980s, "gold" wheel arch trim on Mercedes of that era, and the white tail lights that were the rage a few years back. It all seemed like a good idea at the time. Now we have Hondas running around southern CA with similar unpainted add-ons. It caught me off guard to see a Ferrari pick up on that style.

But then again it's not my car...

Perhaps someone here can post the option cost for naked carbon fiber skirts. That will make it clear why Ferrari picked up on that style. :)

It does indeed, even the CF skirts look acceptable on the yellow car.

To me it seems like modern cars take after the noddy car-models of the eighties instead of models following the reality.

It's a thin line between love and hate.....even in aesthetics.
