1964 250GT Lusso. Bought it in 1970, spent 5 years putting it right. Sold it in 1998.
My experience was great. My first F-Car I ever drove was a F430 Spyder. I swore I would never drive one unless it was mine but I couldn't resist. I was inspecting one that had a small dent on the quarter panel and I met the owner at the F dealer. After the inspection he said to me "you ever ride in a Ferrari" and my reply was no. He said hop in. I ran to the passenger door entered the vehicle and inhaled the fumes of leather and the essence of Ferrari. I wish they bottle that stuff. I was so excited. He literally drove out of the driveway and entered the next driveway and said to me "here you drive". I was stoked. As I got into the driver seat my heart was racing. He looked at me and said "this car you don't drive like she is your wife, drive her like a ***** because that's what she is.. We took off to the highway.. The whole time I was driving he was being super cool and saying things like every man should have the opportunity to drive a Ferrari like this (meaning romping on her), he would keep telling me to enjoy it... don't worry just drive and enjoy. This guy was really super cool. A super wealthy man talking 45 minutes thats right 45 minutes out of his work day to make my dream a reality. He filmed it on his camera / recorder (it was super fancy) and a few months later received a cd in the mail of the whole experience. Approx 2 years later I got super lucky and came accross a Testarossa needing some TLC. I jumped on the opportunity and never looked back. That guy (not giving his name) was the man. I plan on doing for someone else what he did for me. Inspiration my friends.. He filled me up with it and sent me on my way home craving a Ferrari of my own. I will never forget it.. Robbie
Wow man! This is a nice story. You know I feel like those people see and feel the enthusiast we have about thoses cars. And so they like to share that real enthusiast with us. If it was fake or not sincere they would not share this experience. Doesn't matter if you can afford one or not to them, it's all about the passion. On this note, have a nice day and enjoy driving your car man!
Last december I got to do a photoshoot with a local owners 360 Spider. Afterward he offered me a ride and then let me drive around his neighborhood. Incredible experience, one I will surely not forget, beautiful car as well. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Be well and enjoy the experience weather your in the driver or passenger seat.. FChat is also a great way to be in touch with other people that share the same passion.. Thanks... R
308GT4 Phil Tegmier from Algar tossed me the keys and said just bring it back in a couple of hours. I think I was 25 at the time. ( I had bought a couple of Alfas from him)
First time to sit in a Ferrari was when I was 10. My friends father had a white Boxer. He let us sit in it while it was in the garage. I can't even tell you how incredible that was...even at age 10. My first drive was a 348 ts a few years ago. Another day I will never forget. Since then I have been blessed to have driven many different Ferrari models and I remember every one of those experiences. One of my all time favs is the Stradale...wow, what a car!
First was 246GT which I bought in 74. Current is #5 a Modena 360 F1. They are wonderful cars, ea. and every one of them!
First Ride was a neighbors Mondial T Convertible. First one I drove was a 360 Challenge Stradale....when I was only 19!! The CS had always been my dream car. So this was a dream come through. Thank you to the generous neighbor that let me drive it. It was like nothing I have ever experienced in my life. Truly amazing. I will never forget it. The Sound. Oh that glorious sound. Just wow!! It felt and sounded so raw. I loved it. I am now 21 and the sound of the car is still stuck in my head. Now I can't wait to own one of my own!
512 BB at the Zandvoort track in 1979 or 1980. The owner tossed me the keys and told me to go play. I was 21 at the time.
First sat in a 348 (one well known on this forum ) and after a brief run on outback roads the owner stops and says "would you like a drive?" So first (and so far only) Ferrari experience was both as passenger and driver - very memorable
