Can't find the thread about an alternative to the solid targa top on my 348. One that will fit into the trunk for short trips, instead of having the OEM top behind the seat. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I know what you're talking about! I had one, but sold it. In the end, it was also pretty impractical (even for me @ 5'9").

What exactly did they look like and what were they made of?

Are you talking about the 'soft' top John? :):)

There were two versions. One, wuite heavy with metal framing and good latches. Suitable for highway speed. The other version was a quick cover, for low-speed around town if you got caught in a light shower.

Mine was the heavy one/high speed version. Frankly, my carbon fiber roof weighs less than either of the two collapsible ones. For some people it might be a great product. For me, it just didn't work out.

100 mph should be more than enough for these 348s.

Are you implying we don't drive these cars over the posted limits? :p

I have one just like daniels.... The one on the ebay link seems to be the lightweight version since it has no heavy latches.

So was it not worth the trouble or $$?

Did it store in the trunk?

Was there a lot of wind noise from it?

It was just a thought because when putting the OEM top behind the seat, I have to pull the seat forward so much that I can lick my kneecaps.

So now I just leave it home and hope for clear weather (it never rains here anyway).

Funny...I was going to generate this thread yesterday but got side tracked.

I am also looking for the soft foldable top. My SS seats are destoying the hard top. I also leave it home and pray for clear weather. leaving the top on takes away so much driving pleasure. It mutes the music and tickles my head not to mention the stiff neck from sitting sideways.

    I want one.

    Yes.

Not really any worse than my uninsulated, no-core CF roof.
