Not quite. Here is what will happen:

Ferrari won't be winning this season because they're using it to develop the 2010 car. That will quickly cause all the fair weather fans on here to loose interest and the traffic in the F1 section will go down dramatically. By mid season only the real F1 fans will still be on here and discuss the races. Perfectly fine with me.

Next year with Alonso winning in the Ferrari will be a different story though. The board will light up like a x-mas tree.

If KERS can do what it is supposed to do then maybe it would prove benficial on some circuits and circumstances. Thus far we had a big eye opener in the first race. Is that when Massa's KERS gave up? Then two other races. One completely in the rain.

I will admit though that on the whole the KERS cars do not look to be competitive even if reliability were not a problem. Would the car be that much better with a diffuser? Maybe we'll see.

I hope that the KERS are not an FIA issued item. It seems to me to defeat the potential benefits that independent development could bring. Also, it would mitigate any potential advantage those teams that followed the intent of the rules would have by following the rules and desires of FIA. That just doesn't seem to be a thing in keeping with the spirit of the thing.
