This looks like a nice project for someone - Brettski? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170324804493&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3ASS%3AUS%3A1123&viewitem= BIN price of $18,000. Aidan
Boy, that interior shows the wear of a 60,000+ mi. car......& to lose a cylinder w/less than 19,000 mi.....I don't knoooow.... How'd you like the "clutch doesn't seem to be leaking".......these are cabled, right? How 'bout those Ferrari/Pinin flags on the console below the radio, never saw those before. Are they orig.? Gotta love those carbureted V-12's.
The original listing of this car, yesterday, said the compression was good in all cylinders, and that they hadn't tried to start it. Aidan
in spite of it's issues, both stated and otherwise obvious, i do like it and wouldn't have a problem with red at all...but i can't 'do' the side markers. which means i'd have to remove them...which means i have 4 holes to fill and 4 quarters to paint...which means i have to paint the whole car. which means it's just not the one for me, unfortunately... but for anybody in the Northeast who likes it and would like me to make a good car out of it, as is with side markers or without, then let me know. get a qoute to ship it to Buffalo, i'll bring it here and it's $50/hr after that for Mike's time... my hours rarely make it on to an invoice. if the paint is decent, someone could do it and have 400 GT without being upside down vs. the market even after it had major work done. obviously i'm assuming that the ad is accurate... but the guy has 100% feedback on 486 transactions in the last 12 months... ****, maybe i will just buy it...
I like the red on this car. I also hate the side markers, they spoil the wings. The carbed 400 sounds so wicked! I thought of you Brettski, and Bundas, when I saw this ad. Aidan
my customers have shut the doors. no income for the last four days. phones not ringing. had to stop all toy stuff and try to survive. no fun. govt. is stopping all mountain top removal.
well, it is black interior in Cali and with the 400 'greenhouse' effect the leather could age fast...but i really don't think it looks too bad. the flags are not original but i think it's a nice touch and not unappropriate considering that the coackwork was done in Torino. absolutely ! funny...i thought of me and Mitchell as well. you beat me to the punch Mitch...very sorry to hear that buddy, just try to hang in there...call me anytime to shoot the ****.
careful Jimbo...there's still lots of work to do on your car and we don't want to see 'her' tucked away and forgotten about...do we ? ; )
I'll take Jim's 365 and he can have the red 400 ...oh, I just remembered, my 365/400 fund got absorbed by an unscheduled 330 rebuild...oh well, never mind . Regards, Art S.
here she is in 'her' new 'dress'...looks like a long way to go but everything is now done and just waiting to be installed, except for rim refinishing. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jim, the car looks sweeet, even at this stage; silver was definately the way to go. Brett, maybe I should buy the 400 and then I can resell it to you after you have come to your senses and realize that you should've pursued it. I'll cut you a good deal.
Well, the auction stalled out below the reserve price with a high bid of $10K. Given the unknown cost to repair a car that has been sitting a long time and zero compression in one cylinder, that was probably a good bid. Don't know if the seller still has it.
