    Dear Tippy

Could you please have Ed (the big guy that always takes pictures of you) please tell a little bit more on removing the heavy bumper mounts and how he did it?

    Thanks!

Haven't read through this thread, but notice you are in Los Osos. I have an odd assortment of Ferrari parts if you need. I am in Arroyo Grande.

    Dear Russ,

    Mmmmmeeeeoooowwwww, , ,, meooooowwwww,,,,mmmmeow...mew....

( If your car is a Euro car, then the 5 MPH rear bumper supports were added.... To remove them, you need to cut the bolt at the foreward end, then cut the welds at the rear. I used a warn out 1/8" blade in my angle grinder for a smaller diameter cut.)

    Meoow ,, mew.

    (good luck.)

    Tippy da Kat.

Wow,,,,, I believe I spent two weeks behind a wire brush,,, buried in my boot (trunk)
But, All rust gone from my Mondials’ trunk. (If you have a Mondial prior to 1984, , this is a “Must Do” procedure.)

See nice 3M primer job,,, $ 20.00 a can,, next, this weekend, PPG DCC Nero, , , finally pop rivet in a Galvanized Patch, in the huge hole left by father time …!
(This will act as a sacrificial anode protecting the car from future rust.)

Aaaa, , ,, , the smell of a New Euro Rear Bumper, , , from Italy.

    Also of interest,
See THE actual wiped rod bearing that grenaded my first 2V motor..

    Ciao for now,
    Edwardo

    Hello all from Sunny California,

Sorry for the gap in posting my progress… (Sanding is really boaring and, hard to get right, ,,,,, yawn)
See my Paint gun and what it can do.
Here are 8 rear lights to choose from, all have flaws,
for this a, “ Cheap Ferrari.”
See how I busted up a $ 400.00 USA turn signal, just for the clear center jewel.
(It is fun to have junk to experiment on, I found out why these lights are really NOT serviceable, they are really cemented together tight.)

Next clean and scrub them lights, let dry…. (Pretty)

    Tested for looks,,
    :)

    OMG I love these lights.
(Whew,,, !,,, it has been along time getting to this stage.)

    Ciao,
    Edwardo

I love this thread where you got see grindings, cuttings, weldings, fabs,.... Reminded me of my truck project which took couple years and the 1st drive around the neighborhood after all those sweat, blood, cash spent, it brings tear to your eyes.

    Keep it up!

Ken, Thanks for the support, , , , project will be 3 years old in June.
    :)

    Last weekend,
    Spring yard work,, , , , mow, rake, sweep , , done.

(I did manage to sneak in some garage time…)
Glued together perfect USA orange light.
Soldered all Old connectors in the rear Bulb wire harnesses, also rewired a Crappy NOS harness that was wired wrong…..? Duh! Guido…!
    Installed new bulbs.

Next, pull old fuel injectors from cup holders, see New ( pretty) BOSCH injectors,
only $ 21.00 each. Check out the welds on my Injector Puller,,, nice huh…?

Play with Cat, DANGER, watch fingers and toes.

    Ciao, Edwardo

    Hello from Sunny California.
    Busy on the Farm,,,, managed to sneak in some precious garage time to;

Paint Right Door jamb. Paint both air scoops, , , now I can replace the left Cheese Grater. (It is starting to look like a Mondial.) Wiring done in Trunk,, replace tired old yellow connectors with New Connectors,,, solder all spade connectors,,, Guido didn’t do this.
Motor mounts clean and painted, , , waiting for Short Block.

Hey, I have an Extra Forged Ferrari 1979 308 Crankshaft…. FS
Inspected by FAA shop,, no cracks, some corrosion ,,, Needs a Grind , , , undersize Main Bearings are much easier to find then standards. (Ask me how I know.)

    PM Me.
    (Shameless Promotion for Car funds……$$$.$$)
    Edwardo,

    Mean while.

    Ha ha,

The guy I bought it from, dropped his price 20%, , just to unload it.
Yes, it WAS a parts car.
Yes, it WAS useless in 49/50 States.

But, but, but,,,, yes the big Expensive "but," it is a Euro car and comes with a,
    California Title (Whoo Hoo!)
and an ARB sticker on the L door jamb. (Now CARB.)

Never needs a Smog pump,, no EGR, , and no Cats (oops, sorry Tippy) I mean, NO Catalytic Converters.
I will smog it with Cats and a Lambda system. It will Pass easily.
    :)
(Try that with a USA spec. 308 GTSi.)
    And 4 seats are nice.
