To test drive the 599, 612, and 430 Scuderia.

Those cars cost almost as much as my house, and there is no way I could afford to buy one.

Would it be naughty of me to take them up on their test drive offer?

They e-mailed it to me. The e-mail was from Ferrari North America I guess because I'm signed up on the Ferrari Owner's website as an owner or maybe because I've shown my 328 at the dealer's annual concours event?

I don't want to disappoint them by not showing up but I don't want to waste their time unless they want me to. I guess they wouldn't have sent the invite if they didn't want me to show up...

Talked to a friend, 355 owner, who was in the dealership the other day just to look at the new California, and they invited him to drive it. He protested, they instisted, saying it is a demo car and that's what it's for. No pressure, just fill out a questionnaire. He clearly said he was not a buyer right now, but that didn't matter. He had a fun drive!

Changing economic landscape means you get the opportunity to drive a few cars you might otherwise not get a chance to. Jump on it!

Word of mouth is great free advertising. Even if you don't plan on buying a car, you will tell everyone how fantastic they are. They know that. Go drive em and have fun.

They want a person just like you, who doesn't think that they can afford one of those cars, to come in and realize that the HAVE to have one and pick one up.

Yeah I hear FNA makes your car payment for 1 year if you lose your job. I guess they're catching on to Hyundai's success with this promotion.

They know how to play the game... the experience will easily exceed the driving experiece of a 3x8, 355, 360... resulting in some very positive reveiws from Ferrari owners across the nation!

Word of Mouth... a fantastic, and cheap, way to promote!!

    ;)

Got the same e-mail but I remeber seeing the cost at $11,900 plus $800 liability insurance coverage. Look at the bright side, you can bring a gues for only $950 more. What a deal for two days !

Ferrari Long Island ran a cocktail party and car drive last week. No charge for any of it. Enjoyed playing in all the cars.

I just registered for the test drive event and they only allow you to select one of the cars to drive but there is no mention of any charge for the experience. So unless they hold out their hand when I get there I am assuming it is free.

I'm signed up to drive the 430 Scuderia. Hard to choose between that and the 599 GTB. Maybe they'll let me drive both if the time slots don't all fill up and they don't run a credit check :)

I think the $11,900 was for advanced drivers. The price for beginners was $8900.
