For less than 80k not a bad thing though......A lot of (open) car for that money. Of course nothing to do with N.A.R.T.....A chopped Daytona will set you back 4 times that amount. ciao Oscar
US side markers. I think the form of the GTC/4 lends itself quite nicely to an open version. 80,000euro is the price of a nice untouched 365GTC/4
Yes always liked the way they look as spiders, plus the sound must be wonderful. There was a black one that snuck on the lawn in the very first years of the Cavallino Classic. Make mine oro longchamps, tan, free flow exhaust
This car was featured in the april issue of spanish magazine MOTOR CLASICO. So, does it have nothing to do with NART? The magazine presented it as NART...
Yes most of us here know the C4 was never made by the factory as a spyder, that a handful were cut into spyders in the US and that the word Nart has nothing to do with these cars....but I still like them even though some loyalists find them scandalous
The C-4 shape is great as a spider, but there aresome dead give-aways too that this has nothing to do with a factory car. Look for instance at the door-glass and the top. For a good looking conversion the rear top edge of the glass would have been cut in an arch a la Daytona. The top itself looks like it would disintegrate above 60MPH. Then there's the question of rigidity. The Daytona resto thread showed quite clearly where the differences are between a factory spider and a chop-top, and how much is involved in doing the job right. It'd be interesting to see what has been done with this car to make it stiff. Driving a car with excessive scuttle-shake is not fun at all. Otherwise a great looking car, and the panelwork alone to make it would set you back a good few banknotes.
Thanks all for the info. It looks a bit patina. I guess black is the best colour for this car so that you don't notice the front bumper so much Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Contrary to most I quite like the rubber snout of the C4. Looks like this one has a little patina under there as well.
There is another cut 365GTC/4 in the Monaco coys auction catalog online now: red tan, cut by Zampolli in California. Note the small spoiler lip on the rear deck not too fond of it but at least it is small.
I remember Coco Chinetti having a Black Daytona spider with Pumpkin seat inserts @ the NY auto show however I have never seen a NART C4 spider. Cheers, Don Paul
The car is still for sale, or maybe for sale again. Price has increased to €145.000. The seller says that he has proof that it is a real NART conversion. I like the looks of the car. Very pretty. I have contacted the seller and asked for more specific information.
After this summer's auction result the NART Spider name may show up on cut cars regardless of origin. Not that it isn't a pretty car.
Given the huge price that the 275 brought I can see sellers trying to cash in by labeling cut cars NART.
I missed that one I guess. It is remarkable how some conversions do very well, while others don't sell. I like the 365GTC/4 spyder conversion a lot. It looks really good on the car. Sent from my iPad
Yes, that is the thing. The 365GTC/4 spyder conversion was not officially commissioned by Ferrari. Therefore it is worthless (well......., almost). Still a lovely car with a fantastic Ferrari V12 though. If it was half price I would consider it. Sent from my iPad
