Just 2 weeks away! lunch at Rascasse on Thursday. K5 top row for Saturday and Sunday. Where else should I go over the weekend?

Bob- Don't forget Friday. If you bring along a ticket for Saturday or Sunday you're eligible for admission to the pit walk on Friday afternoon- you don't get as close as in years past, but it's still worthwhile. If you want to see drivers and team principals up close, check out the hotel lobbies early Friday morning, since it's an "off day" for F1- I find that various folks, including Frank Williams and a bunch of the Scuderia personnel too hang around the lobby of the Meridien Beach Plaza, and that part of town (over by Larvotto) is really pretty.
It sounds tacky, but strolling by the Casino on Saturday night is always fun- there are so many exotic cars there that it's almost sensory overload, and stopping for a drink and some people-watching at Cafe de Paris is always nice, if you can get a table. While you're there, consider walking by the various restaurants and bars on nearby Rue du Portier too.

Thanks Ira, I'm staying at the Hermitage, I wonder which crew stays there.

Lovely hotel, and if you're lucky enough to have a room on the harbor side of the building overlooking the uphill run from Ste. Devote to Casino Square, you don't even need to buy a grandstand seat! I'm at the Hotel Alexandra (a couple of blocks from Casino Square) so it's a bit of a walk to my seats in K3, but I've got it down to a science now after 18 years.

I sat across from the swimming pool the first time I went to the GP de Monaco in '92, and watched Senna and Mansell battle from there- not bad seats, although I don't know that you can see the giant screen from there (although that may've changed over the years- not sure as I haven't sat there since).

We should organize a Ferrari Chat get-together in Monaco, since it seems as though there will be several of us there. I'm arriving on Wednesday afternoon (May 20) and will be around until Monday morning the 25th when I head to Paris for a few days on the way back.

I'm coming up from Rome on Wednesday. If anyone wants to get together call me on my cell 1-941-726-8480. Or you can look for a guy dressed in a red shirt with a beautiful blond!

According to the ACM site you can see the screen. I hope it's true...

I got the tickets a bit late, so the best places were already gone. I'd like to get tickets for the stands that overlook the Casino Square next year.

I think there may be an additional, smaller screen there now (as opposed to the really big one that you see from the K and M grandstands). I sat in Casino Square once for qualitfying years ago, and wasn't too impressed- since than I've always opted for K.

    Really? Hmm...

I'll certainly consider one of the K stands for next year. May I ask you which K-stand you opted for (K1,2,3,4 etc.)?

This year I'm in K3, top row (so that I can stand up whenever I like without blocking anyone else's view, and also turn around to watch the starting grid behind me). Generally, I like a high row in a low K (K1, 2, or 3) grandstand- good view of the area from the exit of the tunnel over towards the swimming pool, plus a direct view of the big screen. Some of the subtle nuances depend on how well the trees are trimmed that year!
