After all of the threads and my own research to get my baby to start or restart was finally concluded today. After fuse blocks, removing add on alarm kill switch, relays it was a bad accumulator as I posted previously as a possible culprit. The diaphragm had a hole in it and fuel did make it back to the tank via the safety tube coming off the back end of the accumulator. HOORAY!!!!! Draining 14 gallons of fuel was fun even with the lift, scary draining from the bypass drain as no valve to regulate the flow.I will get a new check valve on the fuel pump soon just for peace of mind. Thanks to all of the ideas from you all, Your a great bunch of enthusiasts,Gilligan.

Funny you should say that, I have the same issue and suspected same too.

Where did you source the new accumulator?

Most of the normal sources have it but it crosses over to many other vehicles. The new Bosch part # is 0 438 170 004 that used to be 113978. It is the exact same part. 209.00 at Rockauto.com and I did find less at other sources.Good luck I hope this helps let me know. Bently,Mercedes Benz,BMW all use it,Gilligan

Thanks: I'll probably source it from the local Bosch agents.

I think I have a fuel accumulator on my parts shelf if you are interested. I bought one and found out my problem was the check valve at the pump. PM me if interested. Joe
