This year the Birmingham British Motoring Club's SportsCars in the Park event is being held May 30, 2009. This event is being held in conjuction with the the Lotus Owner Gathering 29, USA7s,org National 2009, Mercedes Heimatfest, and a NASA race at Barber Motorsports Park This means you will have all the mentioned events plus access to the Barber Motorsports Museum housing a collection of 700 plus motorcycles, 200 outboard motors, and the large collection of automobiles. This includes the worlds largest collection of Lotus Racecars (45 at last count).

This is an annual event to help the Make a Wish Foundation and with the inclusion of all the other events at the same time, it promises to be outstanding! Bigger than ever before!

Peter Egan is a scheduled guest also, Please consider making the trip to Birmingham for this wonderful event!

I should also point out that I have a Ferrari-only class included in the show. All Ferrari owners ( FCA membership NOT required! ) are eligible for the event. First, second, and third place Trophies will be awarded within this Ferrari class as well.

This is going to be really really fun. Lots of racing and lots of cars. It is essentially Birmingham's own Walter Mitty.

Tommy, count me in. Do I need to register through you, Barber, or another club? I came to "Sportscars in the Park" last year, but I presume that was different than this.

I saw you were headed to the 430 Challenge in Atlanta. Side question: Is Sunday MORE than just 430 Challenges, such as FXX or other events? Saw no info on the RA site concerning the schedule.

Although I'll miss the Sports Cars in the Park venue, Barbers is a great facility as well.

    Count me in.

Hopefully I'll have the transmission back in the Daytona by then. If not, will bring the Boxer.
