Anyone have any recent dealings with the non-powered version of the opening/locking system on a 308? Had a few searches on here for the locating of the various springs in the system, and found one goes from the bolt securing the door handle pull cable to a sheet metal tab in the door cavity.....but there appears to be a second one and nothing obvious is staring me in the face for locating either end - springs are shown as 6 and 53 - not that position on the diagram is very conclusive, 6 might somehow be associated with the lock? Maybe this will jog a repressed memory. Rigged up something I normally use as a throttle return spring on another car to tension the door opening lever, hopefully not too strong or weak. Lock once engaged, can't be overridden unless the locking lever is manually pushed out of the way....so I expect the second spring may have some application there. Seems I'm missing a spacer and gasket from the parts list as well, gasket going between the door skin and the lock bezel I take it? Image Unavailable, Please Login
