    I saw a red/tan 1978 Ferrari 308 GTS for sale today. No price; dealer said "inquire about price." Car had a little over 39,000 miles and is in fair condition (chips, scrapes, slight/moderate tear in seat, etc.) I need a rough estimate on what to offer. Car has clean title and has never been in an accident. Would $16,000 be a fair offer? Keep in mind that I am not looking for a mint condition Ferrari; just something that I can drive and have fun with on weekends without worrying too much about parking, pebbles, etc. :)

    All advice is welcome!

    5 308's i have owned. my bet would be around $25- 28,000 . no way $16,000. they will laugh at you. beater carb cars seem to be over $18- 20k for some reason. not sure this is really that bad a car. there was a white gt4 in Florida for $16k . i offered $12 cash and he did not take it.

    Hard to say, it all depends on how, when, and who serviced it last.
    Any service record with the car? Doesn't have to be cosmetically perfect
    like you described but it has to be at least mechanically decent and maintained.

    Yes, service records are available, but I haven't really looked into it. I will make sure it's mechanically decent and well maintained. :)
