    Michael,

I suggest that you also keep you mind open to a 1991-1994 964 Turbo. Although I don't think they look as nice as the 1975-1989 930 Turbos, they have enormous improvements over them, are much easier to work on, and are still a "hairy chested" rear wheel drive turbocharged beast like the 930s. I always like looking at the photos of the ones on Sloancars.com.

Lotsa "Pornstaches" in that second pic! Nice find. I'm sure they felt like a pretty elite squad.

You do know that Alois Ruf despised the slantnose look and held out for quite a few years before caving to market demand?

I tend to agree - unless the car is going to be a track beast, I want those fenders just the way Porsche originally designed them.

i will do more looking, and i am not in a hurry, but i have not seen any 84-89 930's that cheap. a dealer in Florida has this 911 Carrera on flea bay.

i dont like the wheels or steering wheel, but a black, slopenose, turbo look , coupe is EXACTLY what i am looking for.

i love the tan interior also.

993 and 964 cars have way to many engine issues from the dead cars i have seen at the two local shops and the dealer in Hilton Head South Carolina. a 3.0 with CIS and a Turbo or a 3.2 turbo look will be way easier for me to maintain. :)

    Try

    Autotrader
    Cars.com
    Craigslist
    PelicanParts
    Rennlist

If you see something that seems decent, have the car PPI'd with an independent P shop. Of course, I know you are aware of all of this.

Not the best looking, but rare as they come and first out of the gate with the then-new factory flachbau design on a road car.

I would "guess" this car will be discovered in the future. How many factory cars were built ? 25 or less ?

This type of car should be a desireable collectable - top of the line special exclusive P-car.

blue trans am is sold. going to keep the 308, unless i can get $35k for it. i am going to start looking for a slopenose once the trans am is shipped out of here. still have the black 4 speed trans am for grins. i am leaning towards a slopenose turbo look car, as opposed to an actual 930.

anybody know why some of these slopenose cars have white gauges,?

was this boy racer aftermarket stuff, or was there a package from the factory that added this?

last thing i want is a car with electrical gremlins because someone has been int there messing around.

this one in West Palm Beach look very close to what i want. i detest red, but i think i can make exceptions !

It's more likely boy racer aftermarket stuff (IIRC Porsche didn't do this until the late 90's) that will not cause electrical problems. Several professional speedo shops offer conversions for colored guage faces......and even the home handyman can convert them over in a hour or so. The gauges pull out of the dash by hand. No worries.......

thanks! i have had to have 2 of my 3 911's speedos rebuilt, and i was concerned there would be gremlins lurking in there if the gauges were aftermarket. it does look "different" ! :)
