My right side indicator light is cracked and I am looking for a replacement, but I am having trouble finding the correct Carello lens. Any suggestions as to what I should be looking for specifically? (my car is an American '77 if that helps any)

this was discussed recently, my solution was to find a plastic welder and repair it. Good luck!

Sorry I looked at the search results and nothing like what I was talking about came up. Also, I think I did not say what I intended. I meant to say that the attachment bolts are stripped from the lens, see photo.

    Any suggestions?

I know what you mean ... I looked for some for my 76 american 308 and the lens that many carry are Siemas - which from what I understand was the brand used on later 3X8 series. I would suggest e-bay as used ones occasionally do pop up ... make sure you ask the seller to check if the lens do indeed say Carello.

Also, with good glue - (at least for now while you look for proper lens) you might be able to reattach the lens back on. Worth a shot .... one good brand that works good and is super cheap is 'super glue' available at Walmart. They sell a package that comes with 4 small tubes.

    Good luck in any case.
    Mike.

I just noticed the other day that I have the same problem on my 81 308 GTSi. After much thought, I decided to try the old super glue trick until I find another. I've been watching on ebay but no luck yet.

Just make sure Ricambi has the Carello ones. From what I was doing research on - both Ricambi and T Rutlands had the Siema ones and not Carellos. Appearance wise they are almost indentical, but if you are going for time correct ....

I believe that's the same side indicator light that's on some alfas and fiats of the same period...can't recall which ones off the top of my head. If you have access to a foreign wrecker yard with some old alfas/fiats you'll likely find a couple that match....

Matthew, I don't know how resourceful you are but, I used to get those side marker from a Fiat or Lancias at my local wrecking yard in San Jose. There use to be a dime a dozen of Fiats there, .050 cents each and some of those are good as new.

Thanks for all of the replies. I think that for now, since I only recently got the car and don't plan on restoring it to a concours level (maybe one day), I shall order the Siemas. Though I will still keep my eye out for a Carello one. Thanks again!

I have an 81 GTSI and I took the louvere off behind the headlight, and there it was and it was broken as well. BTW I'm considering painting the louvere black. Does anybody know if the black is gloss or satin on the models that had black?

The black ones are actually anodozed that color, but a semi gloss on the paintable style should be "close enough"......
