Damn, he's pissed. And rightfully so.

In effect, think Artvonne's indignation and complaint of persecution is rightful.

The thread in question which caused this chain reaction was doomed from the start as haters leapt at the opportunity.

Despite all that - Should Art leave? Absolutely not.

Personally I do not think he should leave either. But to post this thread, and to put it in OT too, smacks of "I am going to take my toys from the sand box and go home." I mean, its kindergarden stuff.

You can only threaten this stuff once. Because if you do not leave, you will be called on it for the rest of your days.

His vengeful god amused by the suffering of 250,000 non-christian tsunami victims going to their deaths picture was most unattractive and struck me as bait for a hostile response.
Yin gave fair warning to all they should be careful what and how they asked for further communion.
As much as I'd like him to stay I find this an over-reaction and can't see persecution of christian beliefs at all.
Many who see Christ as love and life would be troubled by Art's presentation of their belief. I don't see a rightful claim of persecution at all.

and would that be necessary or called for? everybody has moments of heightened emotion or less than perfect judgment... must they be forevermore judged by a single indiscretion? (excluding the obvious "yes" answers of "when they commit a crime or otherwise hurt or deceive others for their own benefit", etc.)

what if enough people explicitly ask him to stay? I'll be the first.

    Paul, please don't leave.

at least, not like this. you may look back on it with regret, and find that what was said or done is petty and small in the big scheme, and that on balance the benefits of this online community far outweigh occasional disagreements, no matter how fundamental.

there's a lot more to this site than P&R. personally, I make it a point to never post in there, no matter how strong my convictions. some topics people just don't see eye-to-eye on, that does not mean that they cannot have a meeting of the minds on many other subjects.

and who cares if a mod gave you a temporary "time-out" ban? you need not agree or see eye-to-eye with every mod.

so please, hang out for a while. or maybe take a few days off... then revisit. if after some time has passed you feel like you simply can no longer visit this site, that decision at least will have been made after some sober thought and reflection, and far less likely to be regretted later.

and I don't care one iota if you wrote one day, "that's it, I'm out" then decided you changed your mind. people change their minds all the time, especially after some reflection.

Haters? Did you mean to say 'The Christian right'? I'd be surprised if anyone HATES him, but it's 'game on' against anyone that rubs the nose of a 30 year-old girl in the face of a woman who has (probably) been devoted to 21 years of marriage!

The grass is NEVER greener on the other side of the septic tank!

It is like the guy that in a fit of anger tells his wife he slept with her sister, once said, you can not take it back unless you are ready to get a lot of crow.

As said above, I do not think he should leave either. But if this site got to him that much.....

Think you've got the wrong end of the stick old chap.

This thread is a 'good bye for ever' from Art as a result of posts to the Fundamentalist gene thread.

You appear to have him confused with Mrpbody44 and his May-December thread.

Blinded by the light old stick?

Here's a novel idea - lets keep the P&R stuff in P&R. If I can't log-in without subscribing, that might mean what's on the other side of 'that' wall might need to stay there for the health and welfare of ALL concerned.....Art, and everyone else who plays there perhaps should take-up that perspective? Just sayin'....thus, a person might only have to leave P&R if things don't go well there, and not the whole board.

What's the threshhold IQ for clearly identifying a clusterf**k? :)

RE: this thread, I will adopt the "Seen this kind of threat before and will see it again" stance.

As for the other, it's crystal clear to me who/what/how/why (nevermind when, the posts are are timestamped, based on geographic and political bias ;)) the players are but a closed thread is just that. ;)

It's about the cost of a movie ticket and popcorn. Way more entertainment, lasts all year and there's always a new episode. And there's still popcorn ;).

    Which Mark?

This Mark went to Utah, Republic of Georgia twice (and "Flipped Off the Russians" after their Live-Fire Exerices there) and Ukraine ....... soon to be twice, and a few Mickey Maus places around home (here in Germany). Utah was by far the most dangerous ............. :D I cudda gotten converted there!!!! :D

Let you know how the Enzo is next week. I hear the 15K service (again) is coming up on it soon. :(
