I see you forgot Felipe in Budapest last year, started 3rd and then promptly parked LH on turn 1 on a circuit notoriously difficult to pass on.

Was that the race where Massa tried to show his racecraft by trying to pass LH but instead ran into him? Massa was once again incredibly lucky he didn't destroy his car, take himself out of the race or receive a penalty with that poor excuse for a pass. I see that he has improved a lot tho. He tried to pass again today and what happened??? Once again he was lucky he didn't wreck...instead he just lost a valuable position.

Yes Massa has worked very hard. He has tried to do whatever it takes to impress the team and has improved over the years in qualifying. His racecraft though has a lot of room for improvement. He is one of the best at qualifying where your not racing anyone and you have to make one perfect lap. However, his lack in racing ability is his achilles heel. Hence last year...all the luck in the world on his side...one of if not the best qualifyer on the grid and he still can't win a WDC.

I was happy to see him get some points for Ferrari today and I thought he drove fairly well. Something a no 2 driver should do and he has shown he is definitely improving in that regard.

Felipe Needs to do a lot more tho than have a couple lucky desperate passes during one freakish lucky season to his credit to show he's for real.

The 'move' was called "Hamiltonesque" by the motoring press. That pretty much sums it up and LH was faster than Felipe but that didnt stop Felipe. Kimi made no such moves last year at all and after France he was out of the picture for the most part. As I said Felipe drove the same car so I guess Kimi needs special attention?

Stated here often was this - LH is beating the reigning WDC in equal machinery.... you know....Alonso? Yet the same cannot apply to Felipe and its all down to luck? I foolishly used to post that about LH in his first year as it burned me up to see him beating Ferrari. Its called denial. I was there and it was not very smart. LH made his luck and beat Alonso and nearly won the title. Tell Felipe to his face that he was just lucky. Tell the team. The fact is published that Kimi's job is under review for this year. I will happily post the press releases quoting Domencalli.

That is all one needs to know about status in Ferrari. Even if its a ruse its hardly the press one would want in Kimi's case. Frankly Im impressed with Button as the ICEMAN more so than Kimi. IN the right car its amazing what we see in drivers we have put down. I am so guilty of those assumptions. I thought Felipe was a complete idiot. There is no doubting his maturity and his contract renewal speaks volumes. Ferrari can get others yet they keep him.

I wish Kimi the best for this year. He is a great driver but as I read on another site, his performance at Ferrari overall has not equaled his implied talent. Felipe certainly does not fear him at all. Felipe certainly didnt fear mr redlight LH last year either.

I make no predictions for this year other than what I have posted that it will be a growth year for LH in a weak car, and Felipe needs to show he was not a fluke last year. He worked hard and must again to win the confidence of other fans. Kimi has even more to prove after getting beaten soundly last year in the same car. It was no ones problem but his. Ferrari gave him the car and early on he delivered and then floundered the most of the season after France.

Oh Felipe took a risk and didnt destroy the car or get penalized. Racing is taking chances and being bold isnt it? I like that in drivers.

Ok then, we'll just agree to disagree. Kimi has already proven his worth by nearly being a 3x WDC and had one freakish unlucky season last year. Massa has had one lucky season. Hopefully Massa can continue to improve. Who knows, he might even be able to be thought of as one of the best drivers on the grid one day....you know like Alonso, and Kimi.
