Forget Ferrari and Formula One, motorcycle racing is what Valentino Rossi has on his mind. The six-time MotoGP world champion has been highly amused by another round of feverish speculation in the Italian media about him joining Ferrari and racing in F1.

Even Rossi, now 30 and way too old for F1, knows that is an old dream.

"It is very good to sell newspapers," Rossi said of extravagant reports that he was in negotiation with Ferrari. "F1 is impossible for me now. And anyway I am
in bikes with Yamaha next year."

Rossi's F1 chances died three years ago when he did not immediately pursue that option after his first and highly impressive test session with Ferrari.

As he said, it sold some newspapers and gives Ferrari and their sponsors some ink in Italy in period when they are being hammered on the track by upstart Englishman Jenson Button and the Brawn team. Better for the Italian media to focus on something else rather than Ferrari being losers.
