I'm interested in a QP in the Dallas area and was wondering if anyone might have a chance to eyeball it for me. Need someone that really knows what they're looking at - paint, condition, interior wear, etc. Also the overall condition and way someone takes care of their car is important (you can always tell when you look at a car and it's dirty or there are food/drink remnants visible). Please send me a PM if you have a chance. Much appreciated.

I have to say you guys in Texas are a friendly bunch! No less than three of you sent me a PM within a hour of my posting. Very much appreciated! If you ever need an "eyeball" on a car out here I can certainly help! I have sent PMs back to all of you. Thanks!

Jeffrey, as someone who just picked up a 2007 QP in the past 3 months, I must tell you, get an S63. I had an S550 before the QP and I must say, unless your sole goal in the car is to pick up women which it isn't because I've seen the pictures of your girlfriend, then I'd go with the Benz. Here is why:

    1. Benz has a much better Interface, it's not even close, the S class interface is the best on the market

    2. Benz has a much better Stereo

    3. Benz has a much, much smoother ride with all the power just waiting there while the QP is slightly jerky at low speeds

    4. Benz services are pennies for the A and B service in comparison to a clutch replacement on the QP

    5. I don't know about the Benz dealer out there, but the one here usually got me in and out in the same day....Maserati dealer, not so much

    6. The exhaust is nice on the maserati, but have you heard an S63 before? I have an SL55 and when you blip the throttle it's incredible.

    7. The maserati definitely gets 10x the looks and attention, but that's in Houston, in Cali where you are I'm sure they're a dime a dozen.

If you have any other questions about the Maserati, you're free to message me I'll do my best to answer your questions. In all reality both are nearly the same price and the S63 is better as far as I'm concerned in every way except the hot girl drooling all over you factor. Also have you ever seen the S class night vision? Pretty useless feature, but it's cool factor is high.

Thanks for the comparison! I've always been a fan of Mercedes and have owned a number of AMG models including a CLS63 and a Black Series. I reside in Newport Beach about two miles from the largest Mercedes dealer in the world - Fletcher Jones. What that translates into is a Mercedes every third or fourth car in my area! :D I love them but they're like Toyotas around here.

I bought one of the first QPs back in '05. Had it for about a year and enjoyed everything with the exception of the Duoselect transmission. It was marginal at best. I hear the new ZF trans is MUCH better. I'm all about being different and QPs are not as common as you might think around here. My attachment to them is purely the "Italian marque" thing. I'm a Ferrari guy at heart and if Ferrari built a four door I'd probably own it.

Undoubtedly the QP won't be as fast, as reliable, nor will it hold it's value anywhere near a comparable Mercedes but those aren't the only reasons for owning one! :)

Tipo, If you haven't already gotten all this taken care of let me know. I'm a pro detailer and really specialize in paint correction so I know what to look for with repaints, runs, sanding marks, swirls, deep scratches, light scratches....etc....etc.... as well as wear on the interior and crumbs in between things unseen and such.....

If no one else can and my schedule allows I will help.
