Greetings all. Well I am getting it in the a@s from a shop that completed my seat belt recall. They removed both lap belts and discarded. I have been waiting weeks for the shop to come up with some resolution but now I got the cold shoulder and I should put my foot up his a@s - dry with no lube and maybe a steel toe work boot. Now I am stuck. Can someone check their lap belts for any manufacturer markings / part number. Ferrari prices are way crazy for two lap belts. I saw one on ebay but it looked a little shot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should really mention the name of the shop so other F-car owners will not suffer the same fate as you have(as well as many others I'm sure)

I looked at the lap belts in my 91 and the labels read:

    Klippan
    MOD 4604
    1990
This belt meets all the requirements for state and federal specs

This vehicle had the recall done in 07
Was the recall done in the shop you recommended for my AC?

    Robbie,

could I ask why did they remove the lap belts?

The lap belt system (on the seat) is not part of the recall. only things replaced are the seatbelt guides (on the door edge), the center retractor belt assembly, and the ecu`s for both sides.

    Regards, Jim

    NOTE:

    part numbers are as follows:

    LH belt retractor - 61552300
    RH belt retractor - 61552200
Seat belt latch (on seat) - 61557200

Greetings Jim.. The answer to your question is: I have no idea... The belts were done just before she came to you for the clutch. I wish you could have done the recall.. I am so aggravated with them giving me the run around. I even got FNA involved and still no lap belts.. I am trying to get some info from Klippan (they manufacture the belts) to purchase. Appreciate the info.. and I still need to get the car up to you. Just when it calms down it immediately gets crazy..lol Stay busy..

Thats exactly what I was wondering. Have they or FNA said anything? The lap belts have never had anything to do with the recall.

Maybe they have their 20 year old who is not quite sure what a TR is doing the job?

Ricambi seems to have the parts available. 360.00 for the belt and about 72.00 for the belt latch. Thats 864.00 just for the parts before shipping and install. still don`t understand why they would remove them and why in any case, they cannot replace them.

I would call them and ask why they were removed.

Robbie-it would really be helpful to others if you posted the morons that did this to your car. It would be unfair if others had to endure the same stupidity at the hands of these jokers.

They did not remove the latches, only the belts..

    Its a total joke..

I am getting annoyed because now I can't even strap my sons car seat properly in the car which equals no ride for him.. He is five so he needs the seat and the lap belt.. I did ask why and they are saying that for some reason they don't recall taking the lap belts out.

    Robbie,

is it possible that the lap belts are there. they are suppose to come through the side leather trim but if they removed those covers and reinstalled them, they may have forgotten to pass the belt through and would look as though the belt is missing.

    worth a look.

    Regards, Jim
