http://tsxclub.com/forums/canada-east/35879-warning-help-all-members.html Cliffs: Dude gets his bumper/spoiler taken. Someone on the forum notices similarities between the thiefs car and a member on the forums. Said member comes on and denies it all. Other members start digging and realize this guy pretty much steals car parts for a living and resells them on various forums (under different usernames) and now they all want to have a car "meet" on his front lawn Rofl
Here was the summary someone provided on bimmerforums: Kid gets some parts stolen off his car and posts a warning to the internet, complete with surveillance photos of the thief. Half the forum immediately recognizes the car the thief was driving in the photos from their own forum and posts pictures immediately. The thief spouts off about how he's innocent and everyone's ganging up on him and how someone already accused him of stealing this part because some dudes rolled up on him at a car meet and made his girlfriend cry. Then the internet detective work begins. They find the guy's 5 or so other user accounts on other forums where he sells random parts off 'his' cars. Then they look into his photo bucket account and find that 'his' cars that he uses to show where the parts come from are all various stolen pics of cars of other various internet surfing car lovers like us. So he's using fake pictures to create the impression he owns certain cars that he's selling parts from. And he's dumb enough to put his face picture in that photo bucket account. So of course his face is now plastered all over the internet. Since that kills his ability to sell stolen parts on these forums, he gets more pissed and starts spouting off. Then he tries to clear his name by creating a new user account where the new person takes all the blame for the theft and apologizes to the thief on the forum....both user accounts used the same IP address. So the internet warriors find pictures of his actual car complete with plates and they run his info and find that he's recently been in jail for speeding through a school zone or some ****. But because of that they have access to all records on his driving, his cars, etc etc etc which were made public record as a result of his arrest. Now there's maps to his house online and people are diving up who gets what parts of his car when they strip it clean. So the thief is threatening to kill anyone who comes near his property. But the best part is that even if he doesn't get arrested or get the piss beat out of him, he won't be able to sell stolen parts anymore because every member of every Acura forum where he could sell parts now knows his face.
Yup! Apparently this is the link http://www.facebook.com/s.php?ref=search&init=q&q=Daniella+Creti&sid=2882f5e9b95316d204f4feabb452ae5b.
Hahaha. What an awesome thread that was. I signed the petition too. I hate thieves and the fact that one got caught makes it sooo much better. I wonder if the cops are actually going to do anything with this though.
Well, they closed the thread so the guy can show the cops. Instead of people saying they are coming to his house and people checking in from various website, it's much easier for him to take it to the cops.
