Hi all, Here are the first pictures of my '97 Maranello 550. I had it for about a year now, but I finally got it out of the shop after completing some repairs & a repaint job. So far I had it washed then took it for a spin. Compared to the 360 I had before, I really love the 550 more because of the massive torque & wonderful V12 sound. Also, I didnt like the F1 shifting thing, the sound & feel of the manual gate shifter of the 550 is a true Ferrari experience. Its back in the shop now to correct some remarks, More pics to come in the near future. Regards Majd Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Stunning car Majd, and good it see it on the road. You must be very pleased with the results! Are you getting to use it much now or are you just using it for special occasions? PS that car wash looks familiar!
Thanks Adnaan, Yes, very pleased with the results. The car is easy to drive, comfortable & very powerful. Its tempting to use it as a daily driver, but as you know I only spend few at home every week because of my frequent travels. You are right about the car wash, its were we met once. Regards.
nice car.. and i have to admire a guy who loves the manual shifter... i hated the f1 shifting in my old ferrari. isnt that the car wash on tareeg al malik? or kings road...i always take my lambo's there when im in jeddah. they are the best. we should meet up for a drive sometime when we are both in jeddah. fahad
Ryalex, Blown Z , Fpassion & Metamorphosis. Thank you all for your comments. Thanks Fahad, I agree about the manual shifter, I dont think the F1 paddles would make it into Ferrari road cars if Enzo is still alive. We talked before on the Lamborghini forum. So how is your Diablo & LM doing? I believe you have a Murci too ( Mashallah). You are right about the car wash, it is the one on kings road. You got to tell me before you come to Jeddah the next time so we can meet. Regards.
The 550/575 is the modern Daytona no matter what people say, a timeless Classic Drive her in health S
Latest pictures after correcting some observations like the gap between the engine hood & front bumper. I think I need to install a pair of spacers for the rear wheels. More pics to come soon after I am back from a business trip. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

That is one gorgeous 550. Love the body-colored lip. I love black interior on the 550/575. Your car is extremely clean also. Congratulations Majd, you have a gorgeous 550. -Chris
Last year the registration number plates in KSA were changed to a new design with both english or arabic numerals on them and everyone is required by law to renew their plates for the new ones eventually (i think when the registration renewal date is due for each particular car). If you have an old style plate like yours which some people have payed alot of money for if they spell something are you allowed to keep the number and just have a new style plate made with the same numbers? I'm just wondering because there are some people still selling their old style plates on the arab version of ebay and it would be useless If it cannot be transfered onto the new look plate. I need some advice because I am considering buying an old style plate for one of my cars but I just don't want to be throwing money away for no reason if i cannot put it on my car. Regards, BANANA.
Thanks Chris, I really appreciate your input. My advice is to check how was the old plate issued, was it through an auction or just luck. As far as I know, only those who bought their distinguished plates from auctions organized by the traffic police are allowed to get the new plates with same alphabet / digits. They will just add a zero, or the same number if it was three matching numbers. Regards
hi majd how is going... love the new pics.. how about some of the interior?? im in jeddah, got my g500 merc and the murci here with me if you feel like a drive some time drop me a PM..
